CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Details still need to come out. Foley may have been replying without knowledge of the prank?...
Also, who passed the IMs to Soros?

That is why Edmund has gotten the criminal defense attorney that defended McVey
I suspect that this is probably the case.

I'm sorry, but so far I'm not buying it. I think Drudge has been taken in.

If it was all staged and fake, why did Foley resign so quickly before the bulk of the allegations were made public? He was embarrassed by "pranksters" who knew he was gay. He was a closeted homosexual outted by pranksters. Hell, my father and mother didn't know Foley was gay. Some people can hide it so well, but I had a suspicion he was gay. But to pull a prank on anyone, especially of this magnitude by making fun of how they talk or walk is low rent.
I grew up being made fun of how I walked because I have cerebal palsy.
Foley was outted by a bunch of punks and shamed by the gay community and called creep and pervert by total strangers.
How would you react?

I think the 21 year old is trying to backtrack.......He knows the FBI will be at his doorstep any second now. This thing has turned the corner and the dems and ABC have stepped in it big time.

I think he resigned because of the e-mails. It was after he resigned that the IMs were revealed. No, Mike, that's backwards. First came the emails. They were fairly innocuous. Then came the IMs. These were the lurid ones. They are why he resigned. It seems, if Drudge is correct, that while Foley took the whole thing seriously, the "teen" was leading him on and laughing at him.

Is it possible Foley is so addled by booze he just doesn't remember what IMs he sent?Perhaps. But it also could be that the prank involved somebody posing as Foley on his office computer. Now do you want to think again about why Kirk Fordham resigned?

They are also saying then "Why did Foley Resign and Hasert take the blame". They won't believe it till ABC retracts their story.

If this was just a prank, then why the heck would Foley have resigned immediately? Doesn't add up.Foley quit because now everyone knows that he is gay. He probably didn't think he'd get voted back in. I feel so bad for him.

why did Foley resign so quickly before the bulk of the allegations were made public? Because he is still a creep. Plus this gives Hastert more credibility - he said, "Look, we know about your tendencies. This is bad. The Leadership will not support you. It is best to resign." (100% speculation)
