According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Even an unfounded accusation by a minor about these kinds of offenses is enough for many to give up and run away, because the press is against uyou, and in these ki9nds of accusations, everyone believes the victim, no matter what, and in a sense, you are guilty until proven innocent, and no one believes your denials.

I agree with you. Not a one of them has reported that the IMs occured with the kid when he was 18 as was discovered yesterday. The idiot who does the local news on KFI in L.A. and who is clearly a raving Dem. hasn't said a word about the kid being 18 and continues to report "What did Hastert know and when did he know it?" It's only going to be through sheer excertion by Fox reporters, commentators and bloggers that there will be any hope of forcing this into the news media's template on this.

The story does not say the im's are fake, but that Jordan goaded him into sending them. The MSM and rats will use the same logic as with Bush's National Guard records, fake but true.

Simple - because he was outed. Foley's role in this is not in question. What is in question now, however, are the ethics and motives of those who outed him.
Because he's a homo who has been trying to seduce these college kids for as long as he has been in a position of authority. He probably can't even remember all the inappropriate things he's done much less the criminal ones. It's just my speculation though.
And it should be remembered that these "kids" aren't exactly innocent. They are like the ones that used to go to Hollywood years ago to try to screw their way into the movies. They all have dreams of political careers.
You'd think the Dems/MSM would have learned by now to not take the alternative media on with a scam this big after Rather.
