One irony here (among many) is that the Rats fully expected that they would be able to use this mess to peel off the "religious right" and divide the base.
Instead, several leaders in the "religious right" have made lemons of themselves and, in the process, possibly damaged their standing in the party, thus making them less rather than more influential.

I seriously doubt all the pages he IMed were 18. This isn't some defeat for Dems. The very fact that this loser was walking the halls of Congress without being reprimanded means certain Republicans weren't doing all they could.

Just read up a little on Fordham and you'll see what I mean. He's a player in this, big-time.Maybe Fordham is very involved in the whole scheme and THAT's why he didn't want the IMs released, not because he was trying "to protect Foley's parents," but to protect himself.
Shouldn't throw Fordham under the bus, though, until this plays out.
