Exactly right. I should have noted in my previous post that the "P.S." wasn't directed at you, but some on this thread who are mistaking shining a light on Rat tricks with defending Foley. That interview did not pass the smell test at all!
THAT is exactly the point I keep trying to make to people that think I am in any way sympathetic to Foley..I am NOT..and his pathetic story about being abused by a Catholic priest just made me more disgusted by him...

The emails are almost three years old. That's a long time to save IMs and to plan this whole thing. It sounds to me that whoever was on the other end of the Foley conversations was intentionally playing him along, maybe even went looking for him on-line just to do this. Actually, it's possible that the boys thought that it was funny, and saved the IMs for future reference. In that case though, I don't think that there was any damage done, except to the reputation of the fellow who didn't want any further investigation of the overly friendly emails.
Ask them where the blue dress is in this scandal and the dems will BLOW it. They will be furious.

The way to "get it behind us" is to work at keeping Dems out of Congress...just to make us feel better over this whole shameful episode in American history. ;)

Foley's lawyer said today that there never was any physical contact....I don't know if we should believe anything anymore...but,
I was disappointed that BOR let that guy get on his show..and make these accusations without proof...
Shoot...if they let him....how about if next week, someone wants to get on BOR and say that he /she had a relationship with Allen, Santorum, Talent...is BOR going to ask them for proof...or just let them get on TV and make accusations??
In the 90s, debate boards, there had been a story of a male pedophile. His prey? Boys. The feminists from Canada and US were going on ad nauseum in their pepertual alternating shrieking and swoon fashion, until I pointed out that the older male was homosexual. These women couldn't get it. Their minds were so wrapped around the "man evil-woman good" rhubarb. Since the mid-90s, I've interviewed many grown men who had such an experience in their youth. It didn't lead them to molest anyone. These males acknowledged that it had been "consensual" only in that their testosterone was raging and an adult male "neatly" seduced them. From a parental point of view, yes, this was predatory behavior from an adult male, taking advantage of the high, usually not well controlled, but learning to control, urges in young men. The men I interviewed did not feel gay, latently gay, or abused. These men I chose to interview because of their very strong views on sexual predators, as in "anti-sexual predator". These men learned from their early experiences.
The Foley situation makes me want to ask the very same question I asked in the mid-90s:
Is sex on a cyberboard "actual sex"? I posed this question on a conservative board. Do words equal rape?
These questions, I learned, can be real vote splitters.
However, the Democrats who love AOL logs of these alleged IMS are SO AGAINST THE PATRIOT ACT
They'll believe an IM log is NOT an invasion of privacy, but Using the PATRIOT ACT to listen in on Terrorists IS an invasion of privacy.

The Dems who love these alleged PRIVATE IM logs seem to hate the Patriot Act. Buuuttttttt, the Dems are ecstatic with joy over "tapping into" these private alleged IMS.

Every one did know that Foley was Gay. It was not a secret, or if it was it was an open secret, more of a don't ask, don't tell. Foley was "outed" ten years ago, and it was brought up again, every time he ran for election. The guy who did the outing claims that he outed Foley because he supported Bush, but that didn't make sense because Bush was not yet running for election ten years ago.
All Sullivan's rant does is prove the point that the Boy Scouts are justified in keeping Gays out of leadership positions.
