Some guy on BOR says he was IM'd by Foley when he was a page...but he had never MET Foley.

Can you say, "someone that wants attention"...or "someone who got paid to say this"???

Makes sense I suppose. I always feel bad for the family, especially the wife, when this kind of stuff comes out.

The fact that ABC now has possession of 52 separate IM's from Foley to pages tells me that it was likely DEMOCRATIC operatives, in cooperation with these underage pages and ultimately ABC, who planned (and maybe even paid) for these pages to communicate with Foley for the express purpose of having internet sex talk. How else to explain the relative ease with which ABC and the Democratic charlatans got these IM's.

SAid it before & will say it again, this is smells like the CBS/Rather mess!

Plus, these IM's are from when???????? 2003!!!

You know what the bombshell is? That Foley never met with any Page, had sex with any of them, nor molested any of them. And I'd rather take the word of his lawyer, David Roth, than the word of anyone in the media, the liberals, and even some of our own conservative-wimps-I'm-afraid-of-criticism types. Our own conservatives wimps are trying to keep their “clean” image intact. Yet, they don't mind going on TV and twisting the facts. I just watched one of them saying... “When Hastert saw those emails that said... 'when is your birthday?' 'Send me a photo?' 'How is the weather?' Hastert should have raised the red flag right there because thats a sign of a pedophile.”

Now, how dishonest is this individual? By the way, he is one of those demanding the resignation of Hastert and anyone else who saw those emails.

The hypocrite didn't even care to put those emails into context. The Page was requesting a work recommendation from Foley. When Hastert saw those emails in that context he told Foley not to contact the Page anymore, because it wasn't proper. But according to this “conservative” he should have asked Foley to resign because it was obvious he was a “pedophile.”

On the other hand, if what the media has reveled today is a bombshell, meaning that Hastert nor anyone in the GOP knew he was gay, on what basis should Hastert have asked Foley for his resignation after he read the innocuous emails?

Foley's crime is that he is gay, LOL! Well, let's get rid of all the homosexuals in the House and the Senate... hello! Go ahead and get rid of ALL of hem, I wouldn't have to watch the pervert Berny Frank and his ilk anymore. However, Foley hasn't been charged for being gay, as a matter of fact he hasn't been charged of anything yet. He's being investigated.

He resigned last Friday over emails and sexually explicit IM's. Assuming the IM's are his and assuming that even more sexually explicit IM's surface, Foley conducted himself in a despicable manner and he did well to resign, yet, as disgusting the IM's are, in no way, shape, or form mean he molested young Pages.

The bombshell.... the real bombshell here is that he didn't have sex with Pages. He didn't molest them.

So I want those SOB Democrats and all those hypocrites demanding Hastert's resignation to put their money where their mouths are. I'm glad the FBI is investigating Foley just in case any phony witness come up with “evidence” of homosexual acts.

Go ahead and prove he molested any young Pages, Rats!

I agree with you. I've been wondering that all day. Teens don't typically save their chats, especially chats that would indicate what these would indicate about them. Also, who held onto these chats for 3 years? The teens saved them for 3 years and just NOW are releasing them? I don't think so. Also, if Foley's advances toward the teens were unwanted or unwelcome, why would they respond to the IM's and respond in they way they did? Don't get me wrong, Foley needed to be gone! But something just isn't right about this....

Yep, keep digging Freepers, I smell a rat. Why now?? Why not before the 2004 presidential election???

He said it was in the mid 90's also. He wasn't quite sure how Foley got his screenname though. He surmised that he knew his name from his name tag and looked up his 'profile online'. Very bizarre.

I agree that no one should try and protect this man, NO ONE, but I don't agree that it should lose us seats. It wouldn't either were the media not so freaking biased.

I think you are right. The problem is, the fact that we think maybe the rats knew this a long time and kept it as a political tool makes some here think we are somehow trying to cover for the pervert. NO way, but that doesn't stop us from exposing rat dirty tricks either!

Tomorrow will be a great new day for Republican Conservatives, we will awake from this horrid nightmare of the perverted congressman and realize that, no matter how bad the MSM tries to make this out to be, Foley is gone and we have an opportunity to put a real Conservative in that seat. Foley was not only a RINO but a gay one at that which in reality makes Chaffee look Presidential.

I have not read all the posts and hesitate to say much except Representative Foley has many problems not the least of which is summarized here:

"Maybe we should feel anger at these people. I don't. I feel sadness. Sadness at the compromises they made and the misery they fueled for themselves. In so far as someone like Jim McGreevey has, for whatever reason, overcome his shame, then I have no interest in judging him. I feel glad he has found some happiness at last, despite his past corruption, human flaws and past opposition to marriage equality. We are all human, and my own life has its own share of emotional and sexual mistakes. Equally, the news about Mark Foley has a kind of grim inevitability to it. I don't know Foley, although, like any other gay man in D.C., I was told he was gay, closeted, afraid and therefore also screwed up. What the closet does to people - the hypocrisies it fosters, the pathologies it breeds - is brutal. There are many still-closeted gay men in D.C., many of them working for a Republican party that has sadly deeply hostile to gay dignity. How they live with themselves I do not fully understand. But I have learned you cannot judge someone's soul from outside. That I leave to them and their God, and some I count as good friends and good people...."

The above was by Andrew Sullivan. Many homosexuals do not understand what they call "phobia" in heterosexuals is actually "disgust." Most heterosexuals are basically balanced and fair minded people who have no desire to punish an overt homosexual; however, if this person has portrayed himself as a heterosexual without reservations the disgust is compounded by surprise when the outing occurs. Andrew Sullivan has a manifest hatred of some Christians (Likes to use the word "Christianist similar to Islamacist)and surely has positions I could not agree with, but he does have a point that if you are going to be mostly or exclusively a homosexual it is best that others know of your sexual orientation.

I saw that too, and it didn't sound right at all. I mean none of what he described sounded believable from not having met Foley to the fact that he said Foley IMed him out of the blue and immediately started sexual talk.

P.S. I think Foley is disgusting, before anyone suggests I am defending him. Just because he is a slimeball doesn't mean roaches won't come out of the woodwork to pile on with questionable tales.

I agree - the innuendo is at a fever pitch, all over the political spectrum. Still, him playing the victim today shows just how whacked our culture has become.

TODAY WE NEED A SHOT OF CONCENTRATED HOPE, DETERMINATION, AND FOCUS. THANKS FOR PROVIDING IT:

"Today, all we have to do is get our collective asses back to the polls again. Simple, huh? If that happens (and it will) just like 2000, 2002 and 2004, we will win the day. Without giving anything away, you can be confident that in the coming days, Rove and the boys will be showing their hand, and it is a much better hand then the Democrats are playing. Just like a few weeks ago, when we were so discouraged and it took only a couple days to snatch the agenda from the Democrats, it will happen again."

I believe in freedom, low tax rates, family values, responsible limited Government, and defending our nation.

Only ONE major party represents me ....
Broken-glass time, Republicans! Save the Congress!

I totally understand that YOU aren't defending Foley...neither am I...

BUT, I am all for defending the Republican Party from being taken down by dirty deeds on the part of Dems and their hit men...and I smelled one, during that interview.

The dem gal on H&C just said that in order to put this behind them (pubbies) they are going to have to make a major step...and if Hastert resigns, that would be it! I nearly fell off my chair laughing. Bosse is full of it, but Hastert should have done more back then, or at least he should be more clear now why he did not. Who had the IMs for three years? Dem operatives is my guess, and that will probably come out later this week, or next week, and then you will see the tides turn again. Given Pelosi has gone on record saying anyone who knew about this should resign; tonight Dick Morris said he KNOWS dem leaders were aware of this....the pendulum will swing the other way soon enough. The whole scandal is sick and it demonstrates the need for term limits and stopping this superior attitude that congress has.

Hello,

Do you not see that NOBODY here is defending Mark Foley? Do you not get that the Libs are attempting to link Foley to the entire GOP leadership? Do you not understand that the media is deliberately misleading the American public about this story, in order to help the Libs win? Think.

Glad to be here, MOgirl
