From the Northrop Grumman site.

Its already been made. It's a BARGE.
As soon as the boys from Zurn are free.
"This will be just as inspiring an occurance. The next carrier, CVN-78 (no name yet), has already started initial stages of construction and will be an all new carrier design called CVN21."
The next carrier should be named after Rear Admiral Stockdale.

I agree 100%. Of course, this is just the latest instance of the Navy kissing political ass when it comes to the naming of ships, specifically carriers. They lost control with the Carl Vinson and Stennis-CVNs named after Congressmen! All of the American heroes or battles or traditional ship names available and all they could come up with was Congressmen? I don't care who they were, they weren't worthy of that honor.
What a magnificent ship, thanks!!
p.s. I shudder to think that we'll have to name something after Bill Clinton...... and I don't want any US Navy personnel ever to have to serve in such a vessel...... maybe we could convert some old rickety freighter into a floating whorehouse for Democrat politicians, staffed by volunteers from Hollywood, the modeling industry, so-called "musicians" like Ashley Simpson, etc.....
...and my son will be a MM on it at that time. He can hardly wait. Right before the dry-dock, he got to live on board for a week. He can hardly wait to be out to sea.
She's a beaut!
When will they build the Klintoon?
Like you, I shudder at the thought of Navy personnel being forced to serve aboard a ship named for Clinton. Such a ship should certainly be informally known as "The Leper Colony" and filled with all the fleet's f-ups. A diplomatic work-around would be to name a US Naval Ship for him as opposed to a fleet vessel. US Naval ships have civilian crews for the most part.
Sorry- Vice Admiral Stockdale.

Is this still in Norfolk? I was driving back from the Outer Banks a few weeks ago and wondered if the carrier in the distance was Bush.
That's excellent. Somebody should turn that into a bumper sticker.
"When does construction begin on the USS Clinton?"
Do we really need more garbage scows?
You don't know how much I regret not voting for GHW Bush only once instead of twice......
