Thanks for posting and congrats today, Jim. I rememeber that scene in the picture very well: Saturday, October 31, 1998, Washington, DC. I attended the march and signed up on FR when I got home. I had been a lurker for about 6 months prior.

That is also the time that finally made me a Freeper. I have been lurking ever since then. I spend at least an hour a day here and have loved every minute. It has kept me from going crazy with MSM spin.

Jim should feel proud of himself.  FreeRepublic is a uniquely early creation utilizing one of the greatest inventions in human history.

Of the thousands of websites like it that of come and gone, FR is still the leader.

History and expertise have been captured here in a new and fascinating way.  Every once in a while I wonder how long my sometimes stupid, sometimes interesting observations and arguments will anonymously outlive me on these web pages:  will FR be here 50 years from now?  What will it be like?  Will anyone posting today still be posting then?

What will those future conservatives think when they read the archived threads about 9-11....the WOT....the various contentious elections?

100 years from now, will some young conservative historian be flipping through posts from 2004 and say to themselves, "Wow.  That Psycho Bunny.......what a dick."

Probably.

And I have Jim Robinson to thank for it!

Jim and John, Congratulations and thank you for the best site on the web.

As HAL9000 says, there is MUCH that remains to be done. We must be ever vigilant, because the DUmmies never, ever stop.

The Dan Rather memogate debacle is the ultimate example of what can be accomplished at the grassroots level, but we all know that they're out there, still trying to bring down our President.

Our task now is to make sure that we continue to hold the majority in Congress. Think: Ways & Means Chairman Charlie Rangel, Majority Leader Pelosi, not to mention the odious John Conyers initiating impeachment...and on and on - quel horreur!!

Happy tenth anniversary. Time flies, as I've been here for over half of it. Doesn't seem like it.

The best place to stretch your mind and hone your debating skeels.

Specially when your debating skeels have been stuned by a beeber!

Thanks for the ping ES.

Thank you so much for this wonderful home Jim!

It's been ten years since the site was created? Gawd, how time really flies.

Congratulations on the web site that has literally changed the face of politics here in the USA. Remember how FR helped:

1) Put the publicity on the Democratic shenanegans during the Florida 2000 Presidential vote fiasco.

2) Did much to help expose the Jayson Blair scandal at the New York Times.

3) Did much to publicize the Swift Boat Vets in 2004.

4) Literally changed history by kicking off the Rathergate scandal.

4) Expose the extreme bias of Eason Jordan at CNN.

And this is only scratching the surface what what FR has done to expose the excesses of the Left. Is it small wonder why newspapers, newsmagazines and the evening network news broadcast are becoming irrelevant?
