Duane 'Dog' Chapman Says Feds Sold Him Out to Mexico in Exchange for Drug Lord
Fox News ^ | 19 September 2006

Mexico - where bounty hunting is illegal - claims Chapman jumped bail after being charged with illegally detaining Luster in June 2003.

A new special about last week's arrest will air tonight (10 p.m.) on A&E.

Chapman, who is out on $300,000 bail, said on yesterday's "Today" show that if he goes to prison in Mexico, he will be killed by inmates avenging the thousands of fleeing felons he's brought to justice.

"I won't last two days," he said.

I think he is making that up to gain support, because if Mexico was looking for money, why give up a high paying drug lord versus a person you can maybe fine only $200,000 once?

I think you are right on. Arrellano Felix's brother was apprehended a couple of weeks ago on his boat. Don't you think he was set up by a rival gang? No doubt about. Eliminate the competition. No one in Mexico does anything unless it is to their financial advantage. Then they turn the other Felix brother over to the U.S.?

Somebody like GWB needs to tell Vicente that if there is on extradition from Mexico, there will be no one for one trades. And he needs to tell Alberto too.

I read the entire thread wondering why nobody brought this up. They could have walked up and knocked on the door. Instead they sent the stormtroopers like he was a Jesus freak with a sawed off shotgun.

Go ahead and spend some time in a Mexican Jail, then in the crap-hole section of a Federal Prison.

Let's see who is the female dog then....

How else do the Feds safely effect a warrant for arrest?

Advanced notification could bring about flight.

I was just thinking why would Mexico choose to go after Dog for getting this luster off the streets? Why would they not just burry this one and let it go?

The only thing that I can think of is that they are ticked at him for catching some of there best criminals that they have dumped on the US. I wonder what mexican official or group or whatever has a personal vendetta against Dog that they want to punish him so badly. One thing is obvious. This has nothing to do with the incident they are arresting him for. They want him because of what he does and who he has done it to. This vendetta goes way beyond what it appears to be at first sight.

I haven't really ever watched his A&E show but knew in general what the show was about and what Dog did. I had vaguely glanced over the recent articles posted here on FR.

Tonight I find myself watching a special that A&E is airing over the whole brew haha.

Something stinks to high hell over his arrest. I will be following this story now.

Strangely it smells clintonesque.

How about going to his place of business, where there are no children and where his son and his brother hang out? How about going in the open, unlocked door there and walking in and arresting them? Huh? Too easy, right? But no, they had to have squads go to the different houses in the middle of the night. Where little children were sleeping. Now why do you suppose that is?

OK - so what is the deal? Dog spent 7 days in jail in Mexico before he was finally released on bail. He then returned to the US. For 3 years, he heard nothing more. Then feds busted in the door and arrested him - sending him back to Mexico. Then he was sent to a US Federal PEN for a time period, then had to pay a $300K bail, and was restricted to home monitoring. And after all that, he STILL is facing charges in Mexico?

I am confused.

I'd do that, but maybe they figured the news of the warrant would get to him, we don't know.

Maybe they had to take down a real violent person elsewhere the next day and had to take him that night.
