Mogadishu 17, Sep. 06 ( Sh.M.Network) - Unidentified gunmen are reported to have raided Mogadishus SOS hospital and gunned down one of the foreign nuns in the hospital.
Reliable sources say the nun, thought to be an Italian, is confirmed dead. A bodyguard of the nun instantly died after he was fatally shot by two men reportedly armed with handguns.
Reports also indicate that the two assailants have been nabbed by armed guards within SOS hospital.
Six other suspects have also arrested as one of the Islamic Courts leaders Sheik Yusuf Indho-adde told reporters.
The motive of the attack remains unknown.
There has been a call for a demonstration against Pope Benedict XVI comments on Islam that sparked anger in all Muslim world by some Somali educated clerics. However, it is clearly not known if this fatal attack has anything to do with that.
This is the first time an Italian in SOS Somalia has been shot dead. The report over SOS attack is still sketchy as no reporters are allowed entry to SOS compound.
Being a martyr for the faith is grounds for Sainthood. I hope the Vatican takes note of this woman's sacrifice.
Not our place. But I'd gladly second an F-15E armed with a nuke, and with an Italian in the back seat. Or just second them the nuke and let them deliver it with a ground attack Tornado. If that proves logistically infeasible, then I'd invite some Italian Naval officers aboard a Tomahawk equipped vessel and let them turn the keys. (Assuming we still have nuclear armed Tomahawks).
A joint operation would be adviseable. To my knowledge, the perpetrators of the "Black Hawk Down" travesty against American troops have not been adequately punished.
Regards, Ivan
I tell you what Abubu, why don't we make it a mutual hunt. Who do you think will get you first, SEALs, Green Berets, Italian commandos? Hmm. I say we clear the field and give the Italians first shot, while we watch their back.
I think they should put that consideration ahead of JPII's and hold a huge funeral for her at the Vatican. ASAP. ;)
The motive is simple. Prey on the weak, defenseless and the Holy

A truth that bears repeating:
Pretty much validates what the Pope was saying. Can he retract his apology?
Muslims are UNCIVILZED.
That would be impossible, as he did not apologize. He simply said he was sorry they reacted the way they did.
and strap bombs to their child. it can't be about money, it can only be brainwashing. even savages love their families.
IF you are not a radical Moslem, you must leave Somalia. It has been taken over by radical who have instituted Sharia, or Moslem law. They have already murdered young people for watching a soccer plan. My advice to the few Christians who are still there: LEAVE!
Yes. I wonder where our dear President Bush is on what has been going on for the past few days. I'm not too worried though. I'm sure that sometime very soon he will come out and tell us all again about how islam is a great religion that has been hijacked by a few extremists. I don't understand why he seems so worried about calling islam what it is: a psychotic death cult. I mean what whould the harm be, that they get even more offended? Screw 'em all. It's time to stop pussyfooting around and get serious about eradicating this stain on humanity before it's too late. Won't someone in the world step up and take the lead?
Excellent points.
What's a "soccer plan"?
Well stated!
In my family, we always referred to that as a "California apology." It seems to me that California was where I first heard apologies of the "I'm sorry you're upset" type. Clinton was also a master of these.
The Pope must have been studying up on "how to apologize while really saying..."
A nun gets murdered in a country infested with Muslim Orcs. It doesn't take much brain power to put 2 and 2 together.
