Mogadishu 17, Sep. 06 ( Sh.M.Network) - Unidentified gunmen are reported to have raided Mogadishus SOS hospital and gunned down one of the foreign nuns in the hospital.
Reliable sources say the nun, thought to be an Italian, is confirmed dead. A bodyguard of the nun instantly died after he was fatally shot by two men reportedly armed with handguns.
Reports also indicate that the two assailants have been nabbed by armed guards within SOS hospital.
Six other suspects have also arrested as one of the Islamic Courts leaders Sheik Yusuf Indho-adde told reporters.
The motive of the attack remains unknown.
There has been a call for a demonstration against Pope Benedict XVI comments on Islam that sparked anger in all Muslim world by some Somali educated clerics. However, it is clearly not known if this fatal attack has anything to do with that.
This is the first time an Italian in SOS Somalia has been shot dead. The report over SOS attack is still sketchy as no reporters are allowed entry to SOS compound.
Monstrous.

MadIvan!! Good to see you back on here!
Maybe she was an undercover advance agent for the Sicilian mob, plotting the takeover of all Mogadishu's drug and prostitution businesses, and eventually all the organized crime for the East African coast! (Wooga wooga music.)
Or maybe it was Jihad, idiots.
Fox just said " The muslim brotherhood" find this apology sufficent...
Italian aid worker killed in Somalia
MOGADISHU, Sept 17 (Reuters) - An Italian aid worker was shot and killed on Sunday in Mogadishu in the latest attack on foreigners working in Somalia, medical staff said.
After an operation on the woman, whom some witnesses identified as a nun working at a children's hospital in north Mogadishu, medical staff told a Reuters television reporter that she had died from her injuries.
Nice to see you back sir..
Monstrous behavior by monsters. Sadly, there are no surprises, no behavior too outrageous, for these muslims.
When nuns working to heal the poor in hospitals need body guards, you know they are working in a country dominated by the "Religion of Peace." That our president and now the Pope cannot even criticize this filthy cult without outrages such as this nun's murder resulting is simply mind-boggling. These subhumans must be eradicated because they are incapable of being reasoned with.
It's all about pleasing allah.

Good links at #45 to see how the controversy about the pope's academic lecture unfolded.
Oh yes the motive is unknown but the very next sentence pretty much says it but just in case there's another sentence with some more waffling.
MadIvan!
Welcome back!
Sky News says that the Somalis are admitting that it is linked to the Holy Father's statement.
"We're a religion of peace and we'll kill you to prove it."
I assume that means other Italians have been shot, but lived ... or that workers of other nationalities have been shot dead.
Sad, but nothing new, they're muslims.
Each time someone speaks the truth, many die.
PS: Good to see you MadIvan !
ROP attacking hospital - big surprise... NOT!
Italian nun killed in Mogadishu
Gunmen have shot dead an Italian nun in the Somali capital Mogadishu, witnesses and medical workers have said.
The attackers shot the nun three times in the back in a hospital in the south of the city, also killing her bodyguard before fleeing the scene.
The nun, who has not been named, is believed to be in her seventies.
It is unclear whether the shooting is connected with strong criticism by radical Somali clerics about the Pope's recent comments on Islam.

Yes it is bloody clear. It just gets worse.
