I didn't hear if anyone was planning for a live thread of the film tonight. Just in case anyone wants to start early. Some in Australia already have seen part 1. Part 1 airs tonight at 8pm Eastern Time on ABC.

Thanks - I wonder if Firefox is the problem because I did right click but didn't get the Save As option on the video clips I visited. I thought there was some mysterious way to go about it depending on the type of video clip being accessed.

The movie was partially based on the very fine book The Cell, by John Miller, the former ABC reporter who was portrayed in the film. It will help you discern fact from fiction.

Have you read John Miller's The Cell, and Peter Lance's, Cover-Up? Both make clear the role in many terrorist attacks of Ramzi Yousef.

Read Peter Lance's, Cover Up. The Philippine air crash portrayed last night that killed the Japanese businessman was a dry run. Ramzi Yousef planted a bomb in that seat on a previous leg of the plane's route. It was triggered by a Casio watch, and was intended to produce a blast just large enough to ignite the FUEL TANKS, which he judged to be in the area where he placed the bomb. Turns out he was one seat off. Interestingly, the damage on Flight 800 was in the exact place Yousef thought he should have placed the bomb.

According to Lance, Yousef was on trial for the Project Bojinka plot at the time of the Flight 800 crash. He stated in jail that a terrorist crash of a plane would create such adverse publicity that his trial would not be able to continue. In fact, after the crash, his lawyer pulled out that very ploy. According to Lance, the FBI guy in charge of the investigation thought it was terrorism (otherwise the NTSB would have handled the investigation), UNTIL he was brought into a "come to Jesus" meeting chaired by Jamie Gorelick at DOJ. After that meeting, the agreed upon cause was an unfortunate combustion of a faulty fuel tank, complete with implausible CIA animation, inspired by Richard Clarke.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't he gut the military spending and make a lot of cutbacks to the military and what they were given? And didn't he have something to do with China (something about trading)?

He did plenty, but it was all to America's detriment.

I don't know why yours was short. Ours seemed to fill the entire time. We DVR'd it and watched it later, but the countdown time was still the allotted time for the show.

The credits also say it drew information from a book by Peter Lance called "1000 Years for Revenge", about how Islam is waging a Crusade against the West. Osama said that it was a Crusade in the interview with John Miller. The libs howled when the President said it after 9/11, but he had it exactly right!

This is my greatest concern.
ABC set a precedent in terms of allowing the goverment to either censor you or shut you down..

ABC and Disney are not stupid. Nor are the foolish enough to believe Harry Reid was blowing anything more than hot air.

I cannot figure out WHY they caved. Does not make sense.
