I didn't hear if anyone was planning for a live thread of the film tonight. Just in case anyone wants to start early. Some in Australia already have seen part 1. Part 1 airs tonight at 8pm Eastern Time on ABC.
lol She was like a a character on MAD TV!!
"But now Richard Clarke saying the plans wouldnt have worked to catch OBL."
With Clinton in the White House, and Clarke as terrorism czar, I am absolutely certain the plans wouldn't have worked.
at least Alfred E Newman is gone from the scene.
The Cole attack will be tomorrow night...tonight ended at Dec 31 199/Jan 1 2000.
And when it happened what did Clinton say? "I KNEW it was Bin Laden!"
Why did they cut the Cole?
Nightline is on...let the Bush bashing begin.
Terry Moran: Years after President Bush vowed to drive the Taliban from Afghanistan, the Taliban is still here."
OK..."I'm Taliban...no, I'm Taliban...are you Taliban? Gosh, it must be easy to be one of them "Taly-bans."
hell, it's moving faster then an American Idol thread!
Oh, so now we can get angry and sue... after we see it.
I feel the fool, I thought I counted 17 months,
You are half right. Tomorrow night's show will cover 18 1/2 months, since it stopped at Jan 2000, Clinton was still in office for almost 13 more months.
Actually, it will probably be in tomorrow.
Tonight just ended with Jan. 2000. The cole was Oct. 2000.
For some reason, I was thinking it was 1998.
Isn't Tennet coming out with a book soon? I'd be curious to see what Tennet has in his possession that can make Clarke and Co. look like the fools they are.
Oh I know... just 'reporting' what Nightline is showing. Should be interesting to see if Tenant ever sticks up for himself though.
Not many from within that Admin have so far... seem willing to fall on the sword for bubba'.
Now Terry Moran reporting that we are 'both winning an loosing' the war on terrorism (your panties are showing with that BOLD stand Terry), and how the taliban are smaller but still in charge.
And its over.. seems they filled the 20 CUT min of the movie with 15min of nightline and 5min of commercials.
Generally no. Other people often do though. It's hard aim straight up, exactly 90 degrees, anything less results in the bullet coming down somewhere else (neglecting wind of course, but even then the angle would have to be "just right".
My question was answered on the live chat from our local station.
Dee
I've been hearing calls lately why hasn't Osama been caught yet. What I don't understand is why aren't people concerned about why he wasn't caught from 1993 until Sept. 11th 2001? It's not like he just suddenly appeared Sept. 11th
Edward Turzanski - Terrorism Expert:
Dear Dee: You have put your finger on the question which has generated the most controversy concerning the program which aired tonight (and which concludes tomorrow evening). Critics of the Clinton Administration claim that it had several opportunities to kill or capture BinLaden and that it resisted action because of an excessively legalistic, risk averse posture. Michael Scheuer, former head of the CIA BinLaden study group has made this charge in a book entitled Imperial Hubris. President Clinton himself had admitted in public statements that he would have wanted to capture BinLaden, but that when the opportunity presented itself, we lacked the legal premise for arresting and holding him. BinLaden's desire to kill us was known for a very long period of time, and he struck at US targets for nearly a decade before the second attempt at bringing down the World Trade Towers. The lack of urgency and appropriate means to neutralize BinLaden reminds one of the old adage that bad news does not get better with age. Our indicisiveness cost more than three thousand lives, billions of dollars in losses and many changes in how we conduct ourselves (i.e., security measures) - and not all for the good. THanks for you email.
And listening to these assholes try to blame George Tenant instead of the Burgler is a joke that is called Nightline....
The movie still shows what the clintoons minions tried to cover up......he was an absolute failure and didn't protect us or the country
Go W...get 'em
And further, it's clear that the Bush people have done MUCH, MUCH more than anything the clitoons did....and that the clitoons are clearly still a criminal machine with help in the democratic party and the MSM.....
I will enjoy Rush tomorrow...
The combination of his swollen head with those girlish hands is downright terrifying :o
I just want to complete a syncronicity. I was just advising a client about a propane/kerosine salamander space heater. Weird...
Best line of the night. The man who spoke them, is he the one that was killed a few days before 9-11 by the Taliban?
A great line by the Northern Alliance leader, and yes, he was the one killed by a suicide bombers posing as the media.
