It's amazing how the authorities always know right away whether or not it is terrorism.
I will reserve judgement until I read the perp's name and see if it is Amish or not .

I think you meant to say that it's amazing how the press reports that the authorities always know right away whether or not it is terrorism.

Too early to know his motive but not a terrorist act.

It could be some dirtball doing a prank. Terrorists usually don't do garbage cans. That said, it will be intersting to find out the name or this "person of interest".

It's amazing how the authorities always know right away whether or not it is terrorism. At this time, we do not have any reason to believe this was a terrorist act, police said in a statement.
Sounds like they are reserving judgment as well.

Detonating a bomb in a train station is a terrorist act -- no matter who did it.
Was it connected to al qaeda? Probably not, but it is still terrorism.

Kinda sounds like a bored teenager on summer break with an M-80 in his pocket and a trash can handy... I know the media described it as a crude pipe bomb, but they call semi-automatics "machine guns" too, sometimes.

someone called to report a firecracker....
I don't care how crude a pipe bomb is, there's a significant difference between that and any given firecracker. Wrapping tape around it does not make it a 'crude pipe bomb'
now....putting a firecracker into a papertube stuffed with FFF grain powder, wrapping a lot of masking tape around it, and solid capping the ends with epoxy...that would 'legally' be a crude pipe bomb...a F'ing retarded ineffectual non detonating one...but legally, yea.
ya know..just saying...

Very quick search shows other pipe bomb incidents along RR tracks. See posts 76 and 77 on this thread.
