Today In New Orleans, President Bush Discussed The Lessons Our Nation Has Learned Since Katrina, The Work That Has Been Done, And The Many Challenges That Still Lie Ahead. One year ago today, Southeast Louisiana was struck by a cruel hurricane and flooding on a massive scale.
The President has returned to New Orleans to reiterate his commitment and to report what the Federal government is doing to make good on its promises.
However, the one-year anniversary is not the finish line, and many challenges still remain.

I have only done that once when involved in a children's mission and it was very hot and we had a quick evening meal before we were expected to attend the Wednesday prayer meeting and most others wore shorts so I did.

I have a friend who has served Lipton Onion soup mix with sour cream as a chip dip for almost 40 years. You can count on it at her house.
The dish is usually empty at the end of the evening. :-)

You're welcome, homemom :)
The Pres. and Laura getting blessed individually is neat.
Indeed. Another treasure found in the "Laura Bush" Yahoo search:

I love this last picture. It's a nice one. It was a contender for Photo of the Day.I agree--it is a fabulous picture! I love it when GWB dresses casually.

We went past your church, I"m sure! It's certainly "Baptist" country. Mom and dad have been very impressed by the friendliness of all the people they have met in MO. We were there such a short time, I didn't meet anyone, I don't think.
