Today In New Orleans, President Bush Discussed The Lessons Our Nation Has Learned Since Katrina, The Work That Has Been Done, And The Many Challenges That Still Lie Ahead. One year ago today, Southeast Louisiana was struck by a cruel hurricane and flooding on a massive scale.
The President has returned to New Orleans to reiterate his commitment and to report what the Federal government is doing to make good on its promises.
However, the one-year anniversary is not the finish line, and many challenges still remain.

Enjoy your Tuesday visit to Sanity Island
I worry more about Jon...he's heading into Iraq and has been made a gunner for his humvee(he's a good shot)...whereas Mike will stay in Kuwait because his Bn is a Helicopter maintenance Bn.....hopefully Mike won't have to leave until June of 07 when he is scheduled to go...by that time Jonathan's tour will be almost over...
Oh my.....will add Mike to my list, as well as you and your family. How's the baby? I bet he has gotten big.
"I chatted about MO with someone from down there"
Yep, that was me!
Have a great time...Soak it all in. Hope along with you
that you get to meet Rummy!
Didn't know that.
"tiny Lutheran church "
To be honest, I'm not sure where the Lutheran church is! We go a Southern Baptist Church south of town on 65.
It makes me really mad that all that money was sent there and not much has been done with it. Plus the whiners . . . but I don't like to get THAT worked up before bed or I'll never get to sleep!
God Bless You All.
And to your men....KICK BUUUU-TEY GENTLEMEN.
Hi, EG! You're welcome :)
There would be a lot of counting to 10 . . . or 10,000 if I had to pretend to be nice . . . do you suppose G&L make jokes about them later, behind closed doors?
Ditto, Buddy.
I'm not Catholic, but have several friends who are...they wear jeans and shorts to Church! That's going too far for me.
I thought about that too, how he can face himself . . . but beings that he is still the mayor, still criticizing the Pres., not making sure his city is taken care of, I don't think he has any inkling what he COULD have done to help the people there. Just no inkling at all.
I know--I could see right through that fake accent :)
Lol yes!
LOL, thanks :)
Have a safe trip up north. Let me know when you get settled. ;*)
It is often seen on bedspreads/quilts and curtains and even wallpaper in Britain.
He described everything wrong in NOLA with those three words :)
I'm not sure if I'll have an internet connection tomorrow night and Thursday but I'll definitely be able to talk to everyone on Friday.
