p>The Talk Shows
Sunday, August 20th, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., and Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y.; airport security consultant Rafi Ron; Rand Beers, former presidential counterterrorism adviser; Washington Nationals co-owner Mark Lerner.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.; British Home Secretary John Reid; Spike Lee, director of the documentary "When the Levees Broke."
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Sens. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., and Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.; Iraqi Industry Minister Fawzi al-Hariri.
"What does 'clear up' mean? Are you implying they just mistakenly shipped the weapons? That it's all a misunderstanding? When you and your colleagues say we need to 'talk' or 'clear things up' or that 'threats don't work'---that's just meaningless drivel. Before Americans can take you seriously, you need to put some specific proposals on the table. Implying that the enemy would be satisfied with 'talk' is childish at best and mortally dangerous at worst". Good post. |
#139, I agree with your conclusions for the most part, but until the New Media takes over the DBM completely we have to struggle to get the truth out there.
IF I'm not mistaken, Specter signalled on CNN that he has no intention of forwarding a statutory remedy to the question of FISA/NSA intelligence gathering.
Rather, he said this needs to get to the Supreme Court. So, not only will Specter not propose legislation that could put the Dems on serious defense right before the election. He's abandoning this important question to the whims of SCOTUS.
The President should have known better, regardless of what the "diplomacy at all costs" libs say. If he doesn't punish the French for their duplicity, he is the loser of credibility in this one.
I still believe though, that this was a victory for Israel, not the defeat the media would like it to be. They spanked Hezbollah soundly, pushed them away from the border, and got a committment to have Hezbollah disarmed. The Israelis argument in support of yesterdays raid is an example of how the Israelis are going to play this.
Thanks, Phsst. I have downloaded FireFox. From things I read here, it seems it has many very nice features that I have absolutely no ability to figure out. I have even read their "Getting Started" information and learned nothing. The internet can make me feel very dumb sometimes.
The thing that I hate most about it is, if I am following a thread and hit refresh, it takes me to the last post and I have to scroll back up to see what I missed.
Yeah, but unfortunately no Republican is saying that.
I just had to point out that it's not just the dems.
The appearance then is [President]Bush isn't defending himself, whereas in reality he is, but the media is just not letting you or I hear it.
Thank you!
The Dems haven't been framing the debate, the driveby media has. Then again, the DBM has become so partisan that they might as well BE the Dems.
Still, we all say the Republicans are not doing enough of this, or their opponets are doing that, when in reality the supposedly non-partisan Fourth Estate have become the arbitrators of what is or isn't newsworthy, the judges of what is or isn't partisan, and the jury on the rightness and wrongness of political thought.
The media has taken a side and because of this they are not accurately, fairly, nor objectively reporting what is happening.
Point taken and is exactly the reason they will not be President and VP.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
and I bet he very publicly files a "friend of the court" brief as head of the Judiciary Committee arguing that the NSA program is illegal (probably applauding the latest court ruling from the Carter judge). This is all about his ego and feeling slighted because the President didn't ask his permission to defend the country.
It's all about Arlen.
He knows he has a very short time left to live and he's very bitter that his legacy, to date, is as a laughing stock, boiled down to the "magic bullet" in the Warren Commission and using "Scottish law" to cover up for Clinton.
Truly sad spectacle.
That "refresh" problem with Firefox drove me crazy till I figured out how to bypass it.
Before refreshing, open a new tab and post a bump in the thread. Go to "my comments" and click on your "bump" post. The thread will come up at your marker and include the subsequent posts.
"I think you will find few here agree with your opinion."
That's why I keep repeating it.
"He is demonstrably a loose cannon."
A loose cannon can be a good thing, if it's firing. A still cannon is no good if it's not. McCain is the only candidate I know who might actually use America's full arsenal to defeat Islamofascism.
LOL. Actually, George Carlin is just trash.
I just did that with my Explorer, and it did the same thing. Didn't know I could do that, Thanks!
You can also increase the font size in IE go to View menu and then text size
I completely disagree. I'd say that as of right now, McCain has the best shot at the nomination. You can point to all kinds of things he's done to upset conservatives. Well, the same goes for Rudy and just about every other viable potential GOP candidate. McCain will likely win every Republican primary where independents are allowed to vote.
Watch him win, and watch Freeper opinion turn around by this time in 2008.
