NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
A who's who of Hollywood heavyweights joined Kidman on the ad.
The actors listed included: Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton and William Hurt.
Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner and Sam Raimi also signed their names.
Other Hollywood powerplayers supporting the ad included Sumner Redstone, the chairman and majority owner of Paramount Pictures, and billionaire mogul, Haim Saban.

Yep, Gary's got an agenda alright, one of the damn finest agendas of any American I've known. Can't beat his acting either. Sinise is what keeps me watching CSI:NY (not that it's bad otherwise, mind you. He is outstanding. He played a great villain in Ransom, too.

Nice to see but how is this gonna help anything? It helps the same way the full page ads by the moonbats hurt. If you don't think the moonbat ads hurt, then you probably don't think this helps.

But please, continue with your cynicism, I'm sure you think it makes you look intelligent. Dead on. That is the cherished core belief of all cynics. They mistake cynicism for intelligence, or realism, or open-mindedness, or all three, and it is neither. In fact, it is a form of close-mindedness and is anti-intellectual.

Truly, you simply wish to insult me. Truly, you're having little effect. And, with no intent to insult you, I must point out that your repartee reeks of the schoolyard, or perhaps more like the mall rats I went to school with who thought calling someone "weird" was a real first-class putdown.
You're outclassed here, and sadly, it's not because I'm particularly bright.

Perhaps you should complain to the authors of the Song of Roland or legends of Charlemagne in which Saladin was portrayed as a worthy opponent, etc. That's the fact, Jack Though I'm not planning on seeing the movie, you do have a good point here. The Muslims who moan about the crusades not only forget that they were defensive wars, they also forget that the Crusaders had far more respect for their opponents than any Muslim fighter (either army types or terrorists) has for their opponent today.

I don't know how to do the link thing, but if you want to, you can google Cher helmets and you should come up with plenty of information about it.

I will do that...didn't mean to "give you homework."
Here's how to do the link thing:
Let's say you want to do a link to FR.
<a href="http://www.freerepublic.com">Free Republic</A>
would appear as...
Free Republic
BTW, I did that with the XMP tag; if you put the letters xmp in a tag (for "example," naturally), the computer will ignore any html tags after it and print them as plain text. Then you close the XMP tag with the slash just like you would any other tag. Here's an example with "AAA" taking the place of XMP:
Normal: italics
With XMP tag: <AAA><I>italics</I></AAA>
Ok...</showing off>

Nope. I'm saying, "Follow the money". They may be sincere, but why the sudden change? Would it happen to be the fact that people who go watch their movies aren't going to them much these days? Because they've been nattering boobs hellbent on destroying America on various fronts by making huge bucks selling perversion, rotgut, and dreck that most people don't care to spend $30 on at the theatre?
We've been fighting terrorism in one form or another ever since Jimmy Carter got shown the door.
