NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
A who's who of Hollywood heavyweights joined Kidman on the ad.
The actors listed included: Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton and William Hurt.
Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner and Sam Raimi also signed their names.
Other Hollywood powerplayers supporting the ad included Sumner Redstone, the chairman and majority owner of Paramount Pictures, and billionaire mogul, Haim Saban.

I thought it was a leftist trait to not accept human nature, but unfortunately it's not.

Maybe they believe it.
But please, continue with your cynicism, I'm sure you think it makes you look intelligent.

I am sure Nasrallah is shaking in his thong....Radical Islam would destroy Hollywood if they could.

The far left is rooting for Hezbollah.
Michael Moore stands against terrorists. He thinks WE are the terrorists, so yeah, he stands against us.

The actors aren't forced to do anything to make Hollywood "look good."
Most of the left (which is most of Hollywood) don't care about you enough to do "damage control".
Most of these signers are centrist to right-wing.

About time the Hollywood'ers put down their bongs and their Prada goodie bags and reached in and found some good old common sense.
I hardly believe that many of these people hit the bong. I especially can't see Patricia hitting the bong as even if you believe that. They just made a very pro-american movie in World Trade Center but of course like all movies that they make for conservatives with American values nobody went to see it so why should they make these types of movies. I don't think that Hollywood should waste their money on people who claim to be conservative and then don't watch the movie.

Where do you get your information. Obviously not from your brain. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are not "married". Do your homework before making an idiot of yourself.

Well, considering the fact that my family includes a father, sibling, 1st. uncle, to name a few, who faithfully and proudly served in the military, and that I wanted to serve my country, but was denied due to a preexisting medical condition, qualifies me as a hypocrite.
I failed to read the memo which states that challenging celebrities (and I will be more specific so as not to be wrongly accused of generalizing), namely celebrities, such as a coward who fled the country in order to avoid serving the the US Armed Forces (Mr. Stallone), and this does not include all celebrities mentioned in this article, automatically describes my person as one who has "condemned" every "civilian" who did not serve. Absurd.
Unlike the average "civilian", celebrities live a different lifestyle. And although it is commendable for someone of their influence to publicly denounce terrorism, I'll be more convinced of their convictions when I see them lead the charge, or go to a hot spot in order to render aid, or at the very least, take the designer shades off and mix it up where only the military or relief forces are willing to go.

I wouldn't say I am a cynic.
I would say I don't trust most of the Hollywood crowd.
There was a day when entertainers put themselves in harm's way during wars for the sake of supporting our troops. The Bob Hope tours, that sort of thing. Not much of that going on these days. Which makes me even more suspicious of these types of statements made by the H-crowd.
Maybe this group got an epiphany. Maybe.

Most of these people are right of center.
Not all actors think the same.

Thank you for serving our country, sir. Frankly, our military did not see fit to enlist me, not to say I didn't try. I was hoping they wouldn't notice that dang medical condition I was inflicted with since I was a child. I realize now that had I been recruited, I could have put the lives of other servicemen in jeopardy.
I'm thankful for individuals such as yourself who put their money where their mouth is.
