NICOLE Kidman has made a public stand against terrorism.
The actress, joined by 84 other high-profile Hollywood stars, directors, studio bosses and media moguls, has taken out a powerfully-worded full page advertisement in today's Los Angeles Times newspaper.
It specifically targets "terrorist organisations" such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Palestine.
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.
"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.
"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
A who's who of Hollywood heavyweights joined Kidman on the ad.
The actors listed included: Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton and William Hurt.
Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner and Sam Raimi also signed their names.
Other Hollywood powerplayers supporting the ad included Sumner Redstone, the chairman and majority owner of Paramount Pictures, and billionaire mogul, Haim Saban.
LOL!
You're welcome...I know the rules around here.
Streisand has been supporting Lament against Lieberman.
Haven't got the complete list. Can anyone help?
Michael Mann ... my favorite director! -Heat- and -Last of Mohicans- and -Collateral-
Notice how many of the signers make mostly action movies
OK, it's a good name then! Having experienced the eyewall of the weather event Hurricane Andrew in 92, it got my attention.
Wife and I are both alumni of University of Miami. Not exactly sports fans, but of course we always want UM to win. They've had some great football teams over the years.
Well....maybe the next thing you know they will figure out that there WERE/ARE TERRORISTS in IRAQ!!! They're on the right track....maybe?
I am quite surprised at some of those names, and not surprised at all by others. Good on all of them!
My thoughts as well. One thing for sure is that this can only help. There is no down side.
Or
I understand your sentiment, but right now this country is divided due to the rabid Left. Having a few powerful Hollywood types on our side, and vocally so, is a good thing. We all have to choose which side we are on. I'll take their support and kinship in killing the Islamo whackjobs.
That's only a valid statement if you believe Hollyweird types denigrating our nation and troops doesn't do any damage.
Did they offer any support to our nation?
Dennis Hopper and Michael Douglas surprised me a lot. I also had no idea that Hurt was in our camp.
I'll tell you who gives a rip what they think. All of the mindless sheeples in this country care a great deal what they think.
The fact that some of these Hollyweird people are finally standing up and voicing an opinion that makes sense actually means a great deal. If even 10% of the mindless crowd let this sway their opinion, like they do with everything else Hollyweird or the MSM tells them, it can mean a lot of extra votes for the conservative candidates in the next election.

People that signed it who I recognize include Bernie Mac, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Dennis Hopper, Don Jonson, Gary Sinise, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Larry Elder, Michael Douglas, Nicole Kidman, Pat Sajak, Patricia Heaton, Rupert Murdoch, Serena Williams, Sherry Lansing, Sir Ridley Scott, Sylvester Stallone, Vivica A. Fox, WIlliam Hurt. There are a total of 90 or so signatures. Many of them with obviously Jewish surnames. I'll try to get a list of names posted.
When Hollyweird Lefties denigrate our troops and our nation, do you come into the thread and say, "Well, that doesn't matter?" If not, you're being a hypocrite.
I knew exactly what you meant when you asked. I've gotten that question quite a bit over the years.
Even though I graduated from the University of Delaware, my roommate during those times was originally from Miami also (Palmetto Sr. High graduate). In addition, my uncle lived in Hialeah at the time. It wasn't quite as bad there, but it was bad enough, so I know how it affected folks down there. They've since moved to North Carolina (inland, of course).
I took the wife and kids to the Keys a couple years ago, and Homestead still isn't what used to be. It's so erie to see the devastation still even after so many years have passed.
Among the signatories: Sylvester Stallone, James Woods, Bruce Willis, director Ridley Scott, tennis player Serena Williams, Nicole Kidman,
Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, William Hurt, Josh Malina, Kelly Preston, Danny DeVito, Don Johnson, and media tycoon Rupert Murdock.
The Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles has been active since the start of fighting with an aim of drafting Hollywood stars to back Israel. During the war, Ehud Danoch, the consul general, initiated a mission aimed at enlisting support for Israel in Hollywood. The team was comprised of Israeli directors and producers in Hollywood.
'Stop terror at any price'
The statement said that if terror around the world is not stopped, chaos will rule and innocents will continue to die. The statement called for terror to be stopped at any price.
Consul General Danoch is continuing with his PR activities, and on Wednesday night he briefed the heads of the William Morris agency on the recent events in Lebanon.
Actor Adam Sandler was present at one of the many briefings the consul general gave this week. At the end of the briefing, Sandler announced that he would personally donate USD 100,000 to the children of the north and south, and about 400 Playstation games purchased by the actor are expected to be transferred to the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem in the coming days.
Yup. I loved 'Peacemaker' and also 'Executive Decision'. That was back in the day when it was not politically incorrect to show the Muzzies as terrorists.
