Can a good Muslim be a good American?
A friend who knows | 8/11/2006 | Agent Smith

Posted on 08/11/2006 6:36:37 AM PDT by Agent Smith

I ask my fellow freepers indulgence for this vanity, because I believe it is too important to be buried in the back of the forum.

Can a good Muslim be a good American? I sent that question to a friend who worked in Saudi Arabia for 20 years.

The following is his reply:

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to Allah, the moon god of Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to the five pillars of Islam and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the mullah (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction of America, the great Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one nation under God," the Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in The Quran's 99 excellent names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation...perhaps we should be very suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They obviously cannot be both "good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what you wish...it's still the truth. The more who understand this, the better it will be for our country and our future. The war is bigger than most Americans know or understand.

Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe in the same one God.

I disagree.

The Islamic 'god' wants women oppressed and treated as property, men to kill anyone (including women and children) in the name of religion, and the imposition of a law-system based on that 'religion'.

None of these exist in modern Judaism or Christianity.

I sometimes wonder who is worse, the Taliban or fanatics like you.

ROFL

No you don't. you just keep trying to come up with the most convincing taqiyya you can.

Good Christians call those who continually lie, liars. Moslims call those who continually lie, good Moslims.

I made the distinction in my response. I bet you didn't realize that the VAST majority of Muslims live in countries where the practice of Chrisitianity is allowed. It goes against the characterization of Islam or the sword.

There are Jewish communities in Morocco, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and TunisIa. There are small communities in Indonesia, and India. I haven't added up the numbers, but as far as Boolean quiz is concerned, I would respond that the MAJORITY of Muslims [more than 600 billion] live in countries where the practice of Christian and Jewish worship is allowed.

World Jewish communities.

That's "divine guidance" of the individual. An atheist citizen (for example) will likewise bring whatever natural principles he follows to the voting booth, etc. This is to be expected in a Republic or a Democracy. Ultimately, the people act as a check on the government, informed by whatever Faith or Philosophy they happen to hold.

Okay. Now can you reconcile that with the statement that everyone should be using the Bible? Given the opportunity, would you codify that sentiment into law?

There is no moral equivalence between the conquering of pagan and satanic religions in South and Central America with the conquering of peaceful Christian Africa by the Mohammedans.

LOL.

First off, I have stated before that I am not Muslim.

Where have I lied? What have I said that is 'propaganda'? Examples, please?

The three major monotheistic religions believe in only one God. Of course this belief is incompatible with polytheistic religions and most likely Hinduism (henotheistic), as well. You may continue to make yourself look good, or stupid, depending on who the reader is.

I think Islam is fundamentally incompatible with Western civilization, and agree with the original post. Most world religions allow for pluralism and are not based on Theocracies. In Islam, there is no religion-state separation. If you don't submit to Islam, then you face severe discrimination. I can be a devout Christian, and still support a pluralistic America, with religious freedom for all. Muslims cannot be devout and support Western democracy and pluralism.
Bottom line: we should outlaw Islam as subversive and Anti-American.

Asking a Muslim whether their allegiance lies with Islam or America is a misleading way to assess the situation in my opinion.

Don't believe me? Ask a Christian whether he is a Christian first or am American first and you'll probably get a similar answer.

Islamist say all NON-Believers should leave Muslim lands. I think we should adopt the same policy: all Muslims out of the US. I works both ways.

I want my son and his sons and their sons to grow up in a free America. I won't sacrifice their freedom just so I can have a little temporary security - how selfish is that?

If we have a few more people like you around, your sons will be dhimmis -- the protected -- who will be charged the jizya when they try to vote; the kharaz land-use tax when they wish to live somewhere; the zakat for mandatory alms to Allah.

If they fail to pay, the Qadi religious judge will order their death by beheading. The value of your son's lives, as dhimmis, will be less than one-half that of Muslims. Your son's women will be killed if they speak to anyone outside their family when unchaparroned by them.

If you want to talk about the destruction of freedom, let us start THERE, instead.

"Well, Internet message boards have never attracted the best and brightest. This place is no exception."

You seem to have a rather quaint faith in your own exceptionalism, since you're posting to this particular "internet message board."

Have you ever done a study comparing the degree of religious freedom to the percentage of Muslims in the country? Do you know of such a study?

You may think it's cute to rah rah constitution stuff, but are you willing to risk your lives on not taking out islam?

Your job as an American is to defend that rah rah Constitution stuff, even if you die in the process. Screwing with the foundations that this country sits on is far more dangerous than what terrorist can do.

You disagree with some of what is taught in Islam. That's fine, we live in a free republic.

I don't think anyone on this thread contests that there are differences among Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. If there weren't, then they'd be the same religion! But, there is one similarity, and that is the belief that only one God exists. These three religions are all Abrahamic. They hold many of the same prophets in deep respect.
