A major terrorist plot to blow up planes in mid-flight has been disrupted by police, Scotland Yard says.
It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled on board aircraft in hand luggage.
During the night, police arrested a number of people in London after a counter-terrorist operation they said had lasted several months.
Police believe the attacks would have been particularly targeted at flights from the UK to the US.
The Department for Transport said security at all UK airports has been increased.
Passengers on all flights will not be allowed to take any hand luggage on to any flights in the UK.
Only the barest essentials - including passports and wallets - will be allowed to be carried on board in transparent plastic bags.

AN IMMEDIATE AND PERMAMENT BAN on all Muslims on all airliners.
Why isn't there one????

Security at Atl. Hartfield backed up 1 hour. Terminal is full and people are having to wait outside.
If Hartsfield is backed up, then most of the country's airports are also backed up. Arrive at the airport 2 hours before flight.
Because the msm/DBM would freak out! They have trained the public that the US is always wrong and that those in Europe, on the continent and elsewhere are of far superior knowledge than we.
These clowns fear the FBI. My bet is this grocer had images in his head of Guantanamo Bay and became proactive about it instead of waiting for his house to be stormed.
That brings up a story my daughter and I experienced in the year 2000, we were returning from Houston to Dallas on Continental Air, short flight, half empty flight.
We sat near the door midplane, she sat across from me and behind me there was a man, dark hair but not ME he acted suspicious in that he was extremely nervous, at that time I thought he may have had fear of flying, we took off and he kept getting up from his seat and sitting back down, finally he got up and took a attache case from overhead and sat next to me. He opened the case and I kept looking at my daughter to do something, she got up and went to tell the flight attendant of the bizarre behavior, I looked inside the case and he had NOTHING but a pen in it.
He kept opening and closing the case. The FA walked by several times but never did anything to him. All I can say was it was an experience I will never forget and if that happened now the guy would have been arrested.
Who knows what we may have seen before 911 and never paid attention, so being alert is of extreme importance now especially.

If 8 is pertinent, we should look at "8" as two zeros...as in "Ground Zero".

When oh when will they release information on who they are looking for?
Are they perhaps Middle Eastern men between the ages of 18 and 40?
Or is it too politically incorrect to ask or tell?

Terrorists don't have a "quota" in the number of attempts they can make.
Well then..we do have those water and gel filled bras to deal with. The women who wear a gel filled or silicone prosthesis from a mastectomy..might have a problem as well..
