One of 11 missing Egyptian students has been picked up in Minneapolis, Minn., NBC News’ Pete Williams reported and the FBI confirmed Wednesday.

Local police in New Jersey also believe they have apprehended two more of the Egyptian students. Federal agents, however, have not yet confirmed the identities of these students.

Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki, 21, was arrested "without incident" by FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said.

El-Dessouki is being held on an administrative immigration violation because he did not turn up for his monthlong exchange program at Montana State University, Kolko said.

From your last link in post #133:

MIM: The Young Muslim Jihad camp in Pennslyvania took place two weeks before 9/11 in August 2001.

Note that many of the speakers are the same ones who will be coming to Villanova in August 2006.

WONDERFUL!!! [sarc]

Just this from the Bridgewater paper, but it's AP - no names:

" ... “In response to hearing in the media that they should turn themselves in to the nearest police station, they did just that,” said Steven Siegel, a spokesman for the FBI’s Newark office.

The students are not suspected of any link to terrorism, he said. They turned themselves in at the Manville police headquarters. ..."

NAMES!!

~~~
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 9, 2006
Two Additional Egyptian Students Arrested in New Jersey
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Manville (New Jersey) Police Department took custody of Mohamed Ragab Mohamed Abd Alla, a 22 year-old Egyptian national, and Ebrahim Mabrouk Moustafa Abdou, a 22 year-old Egyptian national. The Manville Police Department contacted U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and FBI agents who responded immediately.
ICE agents took custody of both individuals on administrative immigration violations as out-of-status students. Preliminary investigation by ICE and FBI agents has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by Mr. Abdou or Mr. Abd Alla.
Earlier today, FBI and ICE agents also arrested 21year-old Egyptian National Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki in Minneapolis. The arrest occurred without incident. El-Dessouki was taken into custody on an administrative immigration violation as an out-of-status student. He was located through source information obtained in the joint FBI-ICE investigation and is currently in the custody of ICE officials. Preliminary investigation has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by El-Dessouki
The FBI and ICE investigation is ongoing, as we remain interested in locating and interviewing the other eight Egyptian students who failed to report for their academic program at Montana State University.
Just a paranoid thought, but it seems like they caught these 3 too easily.
What if these 11 are just a ruse, to test the waters or distract the FBI?
With the anniversary of 9/11 coming up, they might think to add a wrinkle to their last big attack.
It sounded totally random...a while back a few Somalis were traveling the
country looking for a place to live, found Minneapolis, and decided it was
a nice place.
Probably not random. They realized it's a place with a lot of smart, but
politically-correct people that will let immigrants take advantage of them.
IIRC, some Muslims at a charter school in the Twin Cities have gotten the
art classes totally overhauled to be consistent with their veiw of
art: NO human portrayals.
(Just as the Taliban did in Afghanistan; some guy saved a lot of art
in Kabul by painting over the human figures with something easily
removed. This was shown on a National Geographic special.)
I suspect that the Somalis are not happy with the mild "right turn" the
state has taken in recent years.
(I wonder if some folks have quietly been registering apprehension
about being America's first Shari'a state with their votes for Republicans)
KSTP local report at 5:00 CDT ...
Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki was visiting at his uncle's home in St. Louis Park, a suburb of Minneapolis. Uncle is a citizen and grocery store owner. He says his nephew was trying to transfer to the U of M. Uncle turned his nephew in to the feds, and now has been transferred to the county jail.
I mentioned that possibility yesterday...the old pea and shell game.
I also speculated that as being the reason they didn't release the pictures....It puts us in a box...
They want us "out of the box"....looking for ANYONE suspicious....not just 11 Muslim dudes.
