Eleven Egyptian students who were supposed to travel to a Montana university after flying to JFK airport late last month disappeared in New York, spurring federal authorities to issue a nationwide alert, officials said yesterday.
The students - who were traveling with six classmates from Mansoura University in Egypt - had their student visas revoked for failing to show up at Montana State University in Bozeman, the officials said.
The other six students made it to the college.
"The FBI and ICE [Immigration and Custom Enforcement] would like to locate these 11 students in order to speak with them," said FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko after the "be-on-the-lookout" alert was issued to all police in the United States.
Kolko said there is no reason to believe the missing students, all men around 20 years old, represent a threat.

In regard to 9-11, (written 11-9 Euro style) 11 represented many things...the date, two primary targets; NY & DC, the Order of operations - Two towers first and DC second. 11-9 also represents the time...i.e., between 9 & 11 AM.
The way I figure it, the 6 who showed up at school are "watchers"....folks that do computer work, take photographs (they are tourists after all, get into the mainstream and monitor the news. The college gives them computer access.
Also think there are a couple more who arrived before this group. They would be the brains...the coordinators. This little news story bothers me.
Write 6-11 on a piece of paper. Turn the paper 180 degrees.

If they REALLY want to catch these guys, they should put out a news story with names, photos, and that they are wanted "potential terrorists" and see how long it takes for them to be found. If someone goes ahead and pops a cap in them, oops. Better that than another 9-11. I believe they are up to no good. Why would 11 Muslim men go missing in the U.S.? Hmmmm.
I'm sure we've got someone over there searching where and how they got their visas.

Reported this morning that if the local Montana officials hadn't posted the BOLO we still wouldn't have known.

I am not so sure. So many politicians firmly believe the threat is small to them personally while the political risks to them if they act to make us safe and control the borders is immense. They will do nothing and the average american is simply too stupid to grab his butt with both hands at the same time (for how else can one account for 'progressives').
Maine is firmly blue and ruled by one party...as a result we have an abysmal economic situation, #1 in taxes as a percent of incomes, #37 in wages and #49 in friendliness to business. We are losing the 18-30 year old demographic to out of state migration at 4 times the US average and 1 wage earner in 6 gets a check right from government. We are one of two states that lest ground economically per the fed, last year(the other was post Katrina Louisiana)....
Yet, every single year we vote for the same idiots who do this to us...
The terrorists could take out half a dozen towns in maine before the average voter considered doing anything different.
