Gotta use up that cream of mushroom soup some how!
Appalachian_Dweller got a great job and last time I talked with him, he was scheduled for training. He's doing very well and so is Clyde. Of course he misses TM and his FReeper friends here, but right now, he has more important things on his itinerary (such as getting that new job down pat).
Do you suppose while people were concerned about Saudi control of the ports, the relief valves for Saudi visas were opened wide to relieve the steam?
Additional comments self-censored or I'd be admonished for my opinion of the apparent lack of restriction on "the other types of immigrants."
Thanks for the update on App. Glad to hear he's doing OK.
Did you all see this?

Very interesting plot thickner, thanks ffnj.
I feel this is bigger than the planes. Could they have had something planned simultaneously for air, sea and land?

The plot thickens... I thought they were just trying to make a quick American buck by reselling phones? I guess not. All these folks arrested seem to be clueless as to why they are getting tracked, kind of odd.
"BERGEN: Well I can't really comment on that Paula, but I'd like to pick up on what Steve said. I mean, I think, yes, the ideology is very important but on 9/11 we weren't attacked by an ideology,we were attacked by an organization."
Political correctness under these circumstances is Deadly. Until folks like Peter Bergen recognize the ideology is the root of the organization and that it will propagate like kudzu or poison ivy unless you pull the radical islamic theology root out.

Terror plot: Internet cafes raided

LONDON, England (CNN) -- British police confirmed Saturday that they had raided a series of Internet cafes in their investigation into an alleged plot to blow up as many as 10 trans-Atlantic aircraft.
There was no confirmation of any arrests in the raids in London, Birmingham and the Thames Valley region, west of the capital.
The raids came as links to suspected terror operatives in Pakistan -- possibly connected to al Qaeda -- were emerging Saturday as key elements of the investigation.

Thanks for the update on AD. I've often thought of him and wondered how he and the wonder dog, Clyde, were doing.
Well I see you have been given some good answers. My opinion is that this stuff will usually keep for at least a year past the experation date. Longer if you were starving to death. Best thing to do is cycle it. Eat it and then go buy more.
I think the answer came in another article. They were reselling them for profit...to fund terroist activities. I had thought of that, but it just seemed to simple. Why would anyone pay a mark up when they can go to Wal-mart and buy their own phones cheaper?
" just opened a can of Celery Soup yesterday that expired in 2002 and I am still kicking....and I am an old geezer and can't handle spices anymore and other culinary delights/"
Yeah, but did you eat it?
THANK YOU GentleStrength.

JIHAD WATCH.org (CBS NEWS): "AHMADINEJAD THREATENS BUSH" (Åugust 9, 2006)
August 09, 2006
Ahmadinejad threatens Bush
When Iran's Thug-In-Chief sent his letter to President Bush, I pointed out that it had the form of invitations to accept Islam that preceded jihad attacks all the way back to Muhammad's day. The prophet of Islam himself wrote to the Byzantine emperor Heraclius and other rulers, telling them, "Accept Islam and your lives and property will be safe" -- with the clear implication that their lives and property would not be safe if they did not accept Islam. Muhammad directed his followers to call unbelievers to accept Islam or dhimmitude, and to go to war if they rejected both (cf. Sahih Muslim 4294). Ahmadinejad here makes clear that that is exactly what he is doing with Bush: telling him to accept Islam, or face the consequences.
"Iranian Leader Speaks To Mike Wallace," from CBS News, with thanks to Toosmoky:
(CBS) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sat down with Mike Wallace in Tehran on Tuesday in a rare, exclusive interview with a Western reporter....
Speaking about President Bush's failure to answer his 18-page letter that criticized U.S. foreign policy, Ahmadinejad said, "Well, (with the letter) I wanted to open a window towards the light for the president so that he can see that one can look on the world through a different perspective.
We are all free to choose. But please give him this message, sir: Those who refuse to accept an invitation will not have a good ending or fate...."

"...some 128 babies born there is the last few weeks have been named 'Nasrallah'..."
I guess there were too many babies named Usama/Osama already.
Thanks Freeperfromnj.
