Withdrawing from Beirut was not the problem. Sending to few to do the job and too many to sacrifice was the problem.

"It was a response to this crap that you wrote in the same post: "

It had nothing to do with replying to my post about Reagan withdrawing from Lebanon.
Normal bait and switch.

"Sorry for assuming that you could remember what you wrote a few minutes earlier in the same post that I was directly responding to"

Repeat: You have no idea what you are talking about.

"You seem to have comprehension problems, too, so let me spell it out directly"

You don;t even understand what you are writing yourself, let alone what Simonne else writes.

"I volunteered and campaigned for Reagan, so yes, I know a thing or two about him and what was happening back then. "

If you did( I doubt it), you promptly fell sleep for the 8 years of the Regan administration, when it comes to how the media reported on Reagan.

They need to realize now is not the time to live in peace, and deal with it. They failed to keep Hizb'Allah out of their country and out of their government; they have not decisively called for the release of the captive Israeli soldiers, what do they expect?

The Lebanese govt remind me of typical liberals. Get in a jam, holler for someone else to "do something."

Déjà vu

From the 'been there, done that' department:

The Israeli Massacre of Civilians at Qana, Lebanon, April 18, 1996
The Israeli Massacre of Civilians at Qana ... and children taking refuge in a UN peace-keeping compound in Qana, southern Lebanon, to escape Israeli air, ...

Absolutely, the President has supported a Pal State, and the Leb government, even with their elections of terrorist fractions.

Isn't that what the terrorists, the press, Europe, the UN, have said would solve terrorism?

Haven't all of the above used this rationalizations for suicide and murder all these decades, ie, the fact that they had no influence on policy? No seat at the table? that they were occupied? That they killed civilians because they wanted changes in US and Israeli policy?

Well, this President has given them exactly that, a test, can they govern? Can they run a civilized nation? Can they provide good economic means for their people as they claimed?

It seems they have failed that test, for now.

After 9/11 the US decided to give the moderates a chance too, and so far the Leb gov has refused to remove Hez, and Hamas has refused to govern. Iraq is a little better, but that remains to be seen, can they control their terrorists?

"You'll have to resort to another tactic to try and discredit thoughts that you don't like"

Not needed, seeing that you are doing an excellent job of discrediting your own posts.

I'm glad you posted here.

The daily thread is sooooo long, it is discouraging to even attempt to go there.

"Why not let the words of 'angryjordanian' be kept out in the open for all to see? Why do we have to cleanse the thread by eliminating truth (feelings, anyway)? Isn't that kind of like what the MSM does?"

You've noticed the creeping censorship here, too, eh?

It used to be only personal attacks and foul/abusive language got censored here, which included the banning of those who were obviously here just as instigators to stir up trouble. Increasingly though I've noticed the need to conform to the forum's brand of political correctness to a degree that it stifles debate.

Although I very much support the Moderators' diligence to keep liberals from achieving their desire to destroy this forum by causing it to lose its identity and focus I, for one, would have liked the opportunity to know what someone with the bias of living in a world dominated by Islam's lies such as Jordan has to say.

I can figure out for myself how out of touch it is, or if it comes from some deluded troll, as I think can most people who are motivated enough to hear different views to make the effort to come to FR for news rather than rely on the MSM.

I must agree with you. When was the last time Kofi rushed to the UN for an emergency meeting with the Security Counsel to denounce the deaths of innocent Israelis? Ever? If I'm wrong, someone please enlighten me.

It takes courage and strength to do so. It takes the ability to see clearly what they want the futre to be like. To join in Hezbollahs war against Israel takes stupidity.

They should know by now that the arabs are not going to defeat Israel. And having there land used as by islamiscts has brought nothing but destruction and humiliation. If that is the path the choose to continue, so be it.

Oh well, Israel will do the dirty work for them, but they will save face with the arab world by bitching and moaning about it.

Timeout - hopefully you've seen this.

You called it early this morning that the IDF typically has videos to prove their point that buildings they target do indeed house Hezbollah.
