Thanks, I figured it out. There should be room for dissenting opinion and debate. Granted, Hizb is a common enemy. Yet even the infallible president fully supports the government of Lebanon and the Lebanese people. The disconnect that some exhibit is amazing. There are even demands for us to become militarily involved. Sure, I would love to see Hizb pay a thousandfold for killing our Marines in '83. Yet we, the USA, must set policy in our own national interests. The Lebanese and Israeli's must have zero input to US policy. We have gone out of our way to accommodate Lebanese and Israeli interests. Reciprocal consideration of the US is called for on the part of both Lebanon and Israel.

Its fine for him to tell the Israelis to use "restraint" when bombing areas with high civilians concentration..in public. But Bush has made it clear Israel has very right to defend itself, and is very happy for Hizbuillah to get hammered. The Israelis have gotten every gren light they want from he White House to take out Hizbullah.
Its fine to throw some bones at our Europeans "allies" every now and then.
So far as Israelis continue to hammer Hizbulah, I am happy.

And the first reports seemed to indicate it was just a malicious "terror bombing" by the Israelis, raining down random destruction on innocent Lebanese folk going about the business of living.

Turns out, this was NOT just a "random destruction" thing, but the tactic employed by the Hezbollah, once again, of hiding among civilians while they launched weapons against Israel. These human shields, most of them involuntary, I'm sure, are now supposed to be "blood on Israeli hands"?

That is correct, but his words still need to be brought out everytime there are civilian casualties. Hezbollah started the fight and Israel responded. Then Hezbollah declares "open war," blaming Israel for what Hezbollah started. The context of all this needs to be given each time.
