Al-Manar Back on the Air
11:50 Jul 16, '06 / 20 Tammuz 5766
(IsraelNN.com) After a very short break, Hizbullah-controlled al-Manar TV is back on the air, broadcasting details of the Sunday morning attacks in Haifa that claimed at least 8 lives and left dozens wounded, some seriously.
What long-term problems? I see it just the opposite. Problems will be long-term and ongoing as long as Teheran is unchecked.
Annihilate them.
I see, as I predicted, Chirac is calling for a cease-fire.
It matters not what time FNC goes live; its Sunday, and the weekend idiots will be yucking it up, auditioning for "The Today Show".
Isn't there some sort of a limited EMP device that can be used to take out Hezbollah's communications?
Chirac should shut up and stay out of it.
Well at least they have Mike Tobin reports. Having gotten rid of Julian, them seemed much more subdued yesterday.
CNN is now running some North Korean film which is very interesting but should be saved for later.
What's up with all this delay. Why isn't there a ground invasion of Lebanon? IDF had a week to mobilize her troops.

Victor David Hanson was on with John Gibson Friday- he had great persepctive..FTI.
But Iran will not go unchecked. I think the patience being displayed by Bush, Blair, and other western leaders is a sign of very high confidence that Iran is not close to building working nuclear weapons (and I hope they're right about that).
"Isn't there some sort of a limited EMP device that can be used to take out Hezbollah's communications?"
Yep:

I suspect they don't want to take out ALL the communications yet.
Thanks for that info Backhoe. But what is the radious of the effect and how far back would Isreal have to pull back?
They may be waiting us to get our people out.
Get our people out in Israel or Lebanon?
"....diplomatic solution likely to occur."? Such as what? How is diplomacy undertaken with a madman who will not talk and vows to obliterate one of our strongest allies from the fave of the earth? How is diplomacy undertaken with a regime that thumbs its nose at all other world leaders?
Dropping the A-bombs on Japan ended the madness the Japanese wrought. Now they are an economic partner and an ally. I don't see the down side to nuking Teheran.
I wasn't talking about us nuking Teheran. I was speaking of Israel. It is Israel whom Teheran is openly threatening. It may be part of a larger game to them, but the Israelis are not obligated to play it with them. The fact that Teheran has undertaken this threat against Israel and this escalate/de-escalate "game" confirms their credentials as a terrorist state with a rogue leader. Right now Israel is taking political heat because, once again, the good guys are fighting a militia within a country of supposed innocents. This is the game the bad guys like Hamas and Hezbollah play over and over. They hide behind the citizens of the host country, in this case very willing Shiite supporters of Hezbollah, for political advantage, and that is why I say Israel should shake off that game and go direct to the puppetmaster.

Morning...just saw a banner on Haaretz they are closing the port of Haifa.
4 days ago that would have been UNTHINKABLE...
Big bucks ride on that decision, but this morning's rocket barrage make it necessary. That makes two high dollar actions taken by Israel, closing the port, and calling up reserves.
Anyone willing to bet Israelis will be content to sit back, accept a bleeding financial bottom line, trading rockets and airstrikes, for weeks, as a status quo?
