Reference bump.
Major escalation hitting Hafia like this, also word that in addition to the 9 deaths there are many critical injuries. Many folks here may wake up to an expanded conflict. If Olmert does nothing in response to this the IDF and the general population will have his head. I know many have gone to sleep, anyone awake with any guesses as to how Israel will resond to this.

Olmert went to visit the troops at the front yesterday...I was sure they were going in today!

At least eight people were killed Sunday morning as Katyusha rockets fired from Lebanon hit three cities along Israel's northern coast, including Haifa.
Most of the fatalities were in an Israel Railways garage located near an Israel Electric Corporation installation on Haifa Bay, according to the Magen David Adom director general.
Following the strike, Israel Railways announced it was halting train traffic north of Binyamina.
Perhaps symbolic? I got that tidbit on g-news when searching "Haifa."
no, not in Israel thank god. Now there are claims the oil refinery in Hafia was struck, not good if these weapon systems are sophisticated enough to hit specific installations, suggests at least some rudimentary guidance. We will now see if the Olmert govt. has the stones to take this conflict to the next level and deal with the heart of this problem and not just bomb empty buildings and bridges

I think the server must be overloaded. I tried to watch the English channel one and it was cutting in and out.
When ever a defeated enemy calls your actions "disproportionate", you know they have been militarily successful.
Use 50 cal against AKs.
Use Striker and M1 armor against infantry.
Use Javelin and Hellfire against technicals.
Call in CAS early and often.

U.S. prepares evacuation plan for Americans in Lebanon
Concerned about the fate of Americans in Israel's siege of Lebanon, the Pentagon and State Departments are developing plans in case a mass evacuation becomes necessary, officials said Saturday.
The U.S. government was not yet formally recommending evacuation, however.
"We're at a monitoring point," said a Pentagon spokesman, Army Lt. Col. Mark Ballesteros. "We're prepared to respond and provide assistance if required."
The State Department said it was considering various ways of helping Americans who wished to leave Lebanon by finding ways to transport them to Cyprus. There, they could catch commercial airline flights.
However, options for traveling to the island nation were limited, considering Israel's naval blockade of Lebanon's ports and the attacks that have left the airport in Beirut unusable.
U.S. officials declined to speculate on whether U.S. forces would provide helicopters or ships to transport people in the event of an evacuation.
The department said it had received reports that Americans fleeing overland to Syria were being denied visas and had been refused entry to the country.

This thread needs to be put in the breaking news section
I guess Directv eliminated CNN International from its' service. Never thought I'd be wanting CNN for anything.
Border Police arrested 1,592 Palestinians who were in Israel illegally over the weekend.
Thirteen Israelis were arrested as well, on suspicion that they employed 23 of the illegal residents.
