I said last week that this would escalate into a regional Arab-Israeli war. FReepers should not be cheering this on.

Both sides seem to have gone completely insane.

But Israel could attack by air and knock out a lot of key Iranian military facilities. I can only surmise that Iran's leadership is completely insane.

Attacking by air isn't that easy. U.S. Army report: Israel can't stop Iran nukes

"Brom said Iranian nuclear assets are located between 1,500 and 1,700 kilometers from Israel. The report expressed doubts whether such Israeli allies as India and Turkey would allow Israel to launch a military strike from their territory."

"This means that the Israeli attack aircraft would have to take off from air bases in Israel, fly 1,500-1,700 kilometers to the targets, destroy them, and then fly back 1,500-1,700 kilometers," the report said."

"The Israel Air Force has 25 F-15I and 137 F-16C/D fighter-bombers. The air force has already received more than 20 F-16Is, with longer range on the F-15I, but the report said the F-15I aircraft contains greater capabilities at long ranges."

"The report said the F-15I has an operational radius of 1,270 kilometers. The F-16I has an operational radius of 2,100 kilometers while that of the F-16C/D is 925 kilometers."

"But the report said the real operational radius was shorter because the planes would have to fly at low altitude to avoid radar detection. Brom said the Israeli aircraft could avoid Iranian air defense but would be detected."

I think launching cruise missiles from subs is Israel's best option.

How about because the lebanese have abducted two of their soldiers who they are now trying to transfer to Iran, something even the "palestinians" have never had the sack to try.

Israel has already gone after one of the lebanese army bases in an effort to get the soldiers back.

Regardless they will never see their soldiers alive again so they might as well get down to the dirty task of eliminating all the threats surrounding them so the world can begin the clean up and move on.

Hezbollah attempting to transfer captured Israeli soldiers to Iran

Not a surprise to me. This should give IDF boys an extra good incentive not to be captured alive.
The Aztecs waged war not to kill but to capture enemy soldiers who would become human sacrifices at the Temple to the Sun

Mohammed's pagan cult has thrived while the Aztecs are history

We wouldn't do jack because the lefties would make damn sure that we go about it in a PC manner with lots and lots of talking and dealing. Not one shot would be fired, and hopefully the widows of the border guards would understand.

I don't think most of us are cheering it on as much as saying that appeasement hasn't worked. Playing nice hasn't worked. It hasn't stopped the attacks on innocent civilians in Israel.

If OUR goverment was letting civilians be killed in cafe and bus bombings and didn't go to war, I'd be furious.

We are pawns on God's board? Have you gone full-blown Calvinist?

That has nothing to do with being Calvinist. Arminians believe that Caesar Augustus issued that decree.

I believe that God IS involved in the affairs of this world. I do not believe that He has withdrawn to quietly observe from some distance.

They are playing right into our, and the Israelis', hands, giving us an excuse to bomb the ji out of jihad.

In dealing with global events it is obvious that God is in control.

There's a difference between having the power and using the power. I don't believe God micromanages His children's lives. I believe he knows what will happen in all cases, but not that he is always the cause of it.

Each person chooses for himself and the consequences of that choice happen. I think this war has begun because of the evil decisions of violent men, not because God wanted a war.

This is interesting times indeed. It's best to know. I am nervous also but I feel this is the best way to get rid of the vermin and this will also help our troops.

There is nothing in Lebanon worth a nuke. Besides that, Lebanon is not capable of doing anything militarily.

Crazy as this is - it fits perfectly with the systemmatically wacko strategy that Ahm-on-a-jihad's been following. Goad the 12th Imam into swirling up the toilet bowl by instigating a global jihad.

And how to do that? Get the US to attack Iran. But that's not happening fast enough for an increasingly exasperated Ahmanejad. Fallback plan - get Israel to attack Iran - for no justifiable reason, at least, to the Islamofascists and MSM traitorous scum - who think that it's the birthright of every jihadist to abduct and kill westerners at will.

In the feverish mind of a "Twelver" nutjob, an "unprovoked" attack on Iran by Israel will be enough to set the world's muslim looney bins ablaze - paving the way for the 12th pinched loaf to arise from the well.

Iranian Islamofascists knows what they're doing. They have a strategy. And hopefully, it will get them splattered all over the desert, courtesy of the IAF and USAF.

If Iran harbors those soldiers, they have in essence declared war on Israel.

I agree. Nevertheless, a wise tactician waits for the right time to attack. Israel cannot let Hizbullah determine the timetable to conduct a military operation against Iran.

At any rate, I know that most Israeli generals know the right way to proceed. They have incredible control of their emotions in the middle of fierce combat.
