Americans are donating thousands of dollars to support Minutemen patrolling the border. But you may be surprised where your money is NOT going in this 4-month investigation.

But you read THE READER, don't you? *snicker*
It explains much.

I'll say this much. The Denver locals do a better job covering national and internatonal news than the networks they're associated with.
I don't read the Chicago Trib or Sun either. I read online either the Wash Times (I subscribe to their weekly national edition that comes via snail mail) or Billings Gazette online.
The local stations in Tucson were on the side of the Open Borders/No More Deaths/ACLU types until they actually had reporters go down and live with the Minutemen and do reports. They were alot more even handed after they actually did their job and reported, instead of taking the word of the ACLU types when the MM first started.
It's pretty even handed reporting here locally. They have an obvious political slant and it's not Republican or Conservative and unless it's a direct report from the station it's copied from the National Media.
There would have been all sorts of reports here in Tucson if this specific report was close to being substantiated.
Get someone to help you read this thread, go back a few posts, have that person read my replies, and then explain them to you, in words of one syllable.
Although I will be attending the Lt. Dan Band concert later this month.
And I most certainly have no interest in the 'Men Seeking Men' adds found in The Reader. But I'd imagine that StreetWise would be more to your taste. There is usually someone 'selling' it near the Metra Station at the Randolph St. entrance or at least there was the last time I had to visit Daleys cesspool.

The Sun Times is so far left I'm suprised it doesn't fall over.
Neither one is worth a damn any more.
I know folks around here hate him, but that prosecutor Fitzgerald has been doing a bang up job incarcerating Daley administration creeps lately. His 'patronage' boss just got convicted the other day right before he was supposed to have dinner with Daley.
Then it was off to a fundraiser for that embarassment to all things Republican Judy Barr Topinka.
She's going to force me to leave the top of my ballot empty this fall.
L
Isn't the above more than a little bit contradictory? :-)
You're laboring under the mistaken impression that I give a sh** what you have to say. Allow me to disabuse you of that notion now.
I don't.
L
Well, you actually living in AZ gives your media argument a little more weight. It will be interesting to see how this plays out from here. Hopefully, there will be some sort of response from Simcox.
Someone upthread may have answered this already, but do you know if Simcox and Gilchrist are on the outs completely?
Have they split the MM into two factions?
For those unfamiliar with this FREE paper, it's sort of like the VILLAGE VOICE, but free and not nearly as well written.
I've NEVER heard of "STREET WISE", but it sounds right up YOUR alley; dear.
When I lived in Chicago, Michigan Ave. was much more my territory, with forays off onto the adjoining side streets, for lunch at the WAC, Casino, and the like. Of course, Oak Street too. :-)
There are about 4 or 5.
See this one from the LA Slimes.

Which is WHY your replies to me are so confused, benighted, and pathetic. OTOH, I seem to have touched a nerve, vis-a-vis your being a reader of THE READER; down to the point where you grasped what I was alluding to. LOL
The Reader is one of those free papers which largely covers the music scene, or at least used to.
When I worked downtown I preferred Italian Village or the now defunct Berghoff. But even the downtown restaraunt scene is dying.
There's just as good of fare to be found in the suburbs and I don't have to support the Cook County tax and spend machine when I go out.
I maybe venture into Cook County twice a year and then only under duress.
I haven't seen a copy of The Reader in years, nor do I have any great desire to. When I do pick up a newspaper it's the Herald. I don't care if Cook County splits off and floats across the lake all the way to Saugatuk.
The Beach at Oak St. isn't even worth going to any more and Rush St. is now pretty awful as well. The city has been thoroughly Daley-fied which is not in my view a good thing.
Pity. It used to be fun to hit the city once in a while.
I don't even have to go down for a Malnotis or Ginos pizza as they've both branched out to the burbs.

One of you can't get his mind of my backside and now you pop up implying I'm homosexual.
I think you're projecting. (Have someone explain that to you using monosyllabic words)
L
Thank you for finally coming clean.
Oh, they push that rag on Michigan Avenue and have done for decades. But I never knew the name of it and never took a copy of it.
Good grief...I gave you so many clues and you didn't pick up on a one of them. This is really just too, too delicious! LOL
Chicago pan pizza stinks; not to mention the fact that it is akin to eating an overstuffed cardboard box.
Rush Street was always for kids and drunks! Though I was sorry to hear that Butch McGuire died, I was never an habitue of his place or any other such Rush Street establishment.
Oak Street Beach was NEVER all that "nice" to actually be on; the water was okay to look at, though, from an apartment window.
You're creepy.
