Tampa, Florida - Congresswoman Katherine Harris will visit Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. on Monday, July 10th to undergo pre-operative testing to remove an ovarian mass. The preventative surgery is scheduled for July 17th at Walter Reed.
Harris' doctor, Dr. John Eisold, attending physician to Congress said Harris' condition is low-risk for malignancy. The mass will be removed by the use of a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgical procedure. A biopsy will be performed following the surgery to establish if the mass is malignant or benign, and will determine the course for any subsequent treatment.
I know I am in good hands with the doctors at Walter Reed and am looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to my duties in Congress and hitting the campaign trail. I hope that women across the state of Florida and our nation will take this opportunity to ask their doctors about ovarian cancer risks, as well as ask them about breast cancer, and general women's health issues. It is vitally important for women of all ages to get annual physical exams, eat well, exercise, and follow the advice of their doctor, Harris said.
Harris Press Release
Prayers that Congresswoman Katherine Harris has a speedy and complete recovery.
Ovarian cysts are not uncommon. But ovarian cancer is an entirely different ballgame.
Prayers for her. She's a valiant lady.
Dear Freepers:
Congresswoman Harris has told me how much she appreciated the notes and encouraging words we sent her during the aftermath of the 2000 election.
Please consider sending Katherine Harris your prayers and good wishes for her recovery:

I am so sorry to hear of this Julie and will keep her in my prayers.
She's in my prayers as well. GOD BLESS YOU KATHERINE.
Why have a Press release you ask. Because she has a very overloaded campaign schedule and wanted to tell people up front to avoid the speculation when the appearances were cancelled. This is not just and in and out and bakc on the campaign trail after the procedure. They do not know until they operate the extent of the mass, and it could end up being a hysterectomy. We will say prayers that this very brave woman will only have to endure minor surgery.
Prayers for Rep. Harris. Hope she reads this thread, may perk her up a bit in this troubled time.
I pray for Katherine to The Lord Our God to Heal her.

Representative Katherine Harris, you have my deepest prayers !
I just found out about this on Yahoo News .
Your remark, which I will not bother to repeat, sounds callous !
It's called getting ahead of the story. If her office said nothing, she didn't show up for campaign events as expected and someone saw her going to Walter Reed, it'd take minutes for the rumors to start flying (on FR, even).
Hope you recover faster than a speeding bullet, Katherine. We're pulling for you!

Did you read the post I was responding to? Doesn't seem like you did.
Or are you objecting to my reference to her as a middle aged woman? She is, isn't she?
Our thoughts and prayers for this amazing lady.
>>Same here. but I wonder if God is trying to tell her something. Just a thought."
Or maybe the devil is trying to stop her. Or maybe, just maybe she is a middle aged woman with a few health issues. <<
I missed posting # 7, that is what I was refering too .
7 was removed, thankfully by the Modie !
>>Our thoughts and prayers for this amazing lady.<<
Our deepest prayers for this remarkable woman .
Her fans and friends, here and everywhere, are always with her !
yes, post 7 was rather tasteless, and I certainly wasnt trying to be.
