A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
received this in my email June 10th, the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

An Atheists Point Of View
READ: 2 Timothy 1:8-13
Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 2 Timothy 1:13
Three young men who say they are atheists decided to sample and report on several churches in their city. One of these men said, There is something other than teaching that is appealing to people. We didnt see a lot of doctrine. . . . The appeal was mostly the community. The content in most churches isnt nearly as important as the packaging. The three atheists offered this explanation for why thousands of people in their area attend church each Sunday: The attraction stems more from a persons Christian identity than from what the religion teaches.
Their experience agrees with the observation of author A. W. Tozer, who said, Increasing numbers of [Christians] are becoming ashamed to be found unequivocally on the side of truth. They say they believe, but their beliefs have been so diluted as to be impossible of clear definition.
The apostle Paul knew whom he believed, and he instructed Timothy to hold fast to the truth he had been taught (2 Timothy 1:12-13). We too need to hold tightly to our beliefs based on the unfailing, God-inspired Bible. What we believe about God is more crucial than any feeling we get by being in church. Tozer calls us to stand firm on the Word of God that lives and abides forever. Anne Cetas
Since by faith I have clear vision,
Your blest Word is rich and new;
Men with eyes by sin distorted
Cannot all its treasures view. Bosch

Dearest Sista, My heart is heavy with pain as I try my best to be gentle in telling you that God called for Maggie to come home to Him during the night to be at His side. Her pain and suffering have ended forever.
God allowed her to return to her home for a few brief hours, where she was able to see her great grand daughter for the first time. To tell me that she loved me and that she was oh so tired. Her grandson fixed her request for chicken noodle soup, and macaroni and cheese dish. (passing on the word to him through to cook the noodles 15min not according to the package direction.) She wanted them soft.
We held hands and talked a bit, then she told me she was tired and to eat something. She wanted to sleep after coming home from dialysis. The Lord called her around 3am to 5am this morning. She slept in His peac. Thank you Jesus for giving us a few more moments with her. Our family and I want to thank you all for your support and prayers.
I was able to show her prayer request book sent to her and read some of the prayers. She was truely touched by you all. For she loved each and every one of you with all her heart. In my heart I know she is telling God about all of you and thanking Him for giving her the honor and joy you gave her. Love, Bernie

For she loved each and every one of you with all her heart. We loved her right back. She was always kind and had a wonderful sense of humor. And her strength was awe-inspiring.
Prayers up for her family and loved ones.
This is one FReeper who will be missed by many.

I know, neither can I.
She will be missed dearly, but we know that "to be absent from the body, is to be in the prescence of the Lord".
That is what Maggie new and beleived with all her Heart and Soul. Maggie, loved the Lord Jesus and is truely saved from death and has passed into the Lords arms and Eternal Life.

That alone tells me that the Lord wanted her to be home where she could do just what she did. I am sure Maggie held on long enough be home.
What a Blessing to her family.
Maggie was a Blessing to all of us, her strength, her Faith, her Love for her family, Love for our Country, showed through all her posts.
