Would your dad, by chance, be the Admiral who chopped the water line into Gitmo when The Evil One cut off the water supply to the base?

"I was scared as hell at first but then loved every minute of it."
My son who went to jump school at Bragg in the late '80s reported something similar. As he was standing on line for his first jump, the Sargeant said "are you afraid?" "No," a few moments later, "are you afraid?" "No." At the door "are you afraid?" "No." Then out the door to STARK TERROR in 2 seconds. I don't know how many jumps he has made, but he continued in the Reserves with Jump status after he mustered out. Then he went back in and is now in Afghanistan, probably not jumping though.

"Would your dad, by chance, be the Admiral who chopped the water line into Gitmo when The Evil One cut off the water supply to the base? The Admiral would have been the Commandant. My dad was a Captain. Wonder if it was Rear Admiral Buckley, you were thinking about. He was Commandant there about that time. His claim to fame was escorting MacArthur out of the Phillipines.
