FReeper Canteen ~ Tell Us About Your Military Service ~ July 6, 2006
Ms. Behavin & Old Sarge | 06 JULY 2006 | Ms. Behavin & Old Sarge

Posted on 07/05/2006 7:04:50 PM PDT by Old Sarge

Army?

Navy?

Air Force?

Marines?

Coast Guard?

Why did you choose that particular branch?

Where did you go to Basic Training or Boot Camp?

What is the name of your unit? (Division?)

What is their (your) mascot?

Tell us how much you loved your DI!

How long were you at Boot Camp/Basic Training, before you questioned the parentage of the senior Drill Sergeant? How long were you in service before you realized that the instructors were right in all that they taught you?

Your first landing on an aircraft carrier

Your first parachute jump

The heaviest vehicle you got to drive

The largest weapon you got to use

Did you serve before email?

Did you have a personal nickname?

It is our pleasure and honor to be here for our Troops, past, present and future...
and especially during this Week, the 4th of July we remember that we owe our freedom to you.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and God bless you.

A gentle reminder from Ms.B:
Please, no politics in The Canteen.
The Troops need a place to rest, relax and relate, and that place is The Canteen.
Have fun and play nice!

You are welcome. Proud to have served. Someday, I will write a bio of my dad who was the ultimate Naval Officer. One of his jobs was Chief of Staff of Gitmo....more later.

I still have to work around some problems on the new old computer my son came down and hooked up for me where I am now..at my home in Central Texas or I would have been here earlier..I can load the thread and read all including seeing the graphics! It has an error on it though that I cannot find nor could my son..so it freezes just when I am ready to post at times.

Tried to defrag last night all night,,Big mistake! I thought I had lost the ability to get into the computer forever..LOL..

I loved all the stories, Great thread..Thank you!

Proud grandmother of a Navy grandson, proud Navy wife, 53 through 56. Go Navy!
