Excerpt -

GAZA, June 29 (Reuters) - A spokesman for gunmen in the Gaza Strip said they had fired a rocket tipped with a chemical warhead at Israel early on Thursday.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the claim by the spokesman from the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement.

They've recently been massing on the Iranian border. But it's probably for border security. There's not going to be a grand invasion into Iran. There's no troops to do it. The U.S. military is just too small, and there's no money to pay for it.

I still say that Iran has the bomb. They are and have been baiting Israel to attack. Iran will then nuke Israel. Iran doesn't care if Israel nukes it back. This is the whole idea.

It appears to not be true. I would have expected confirmation by now.

No kidding. Israel flying over Syria; Tanks going into Gaza; The Palestinian pukes using WMDs; etc. This is big news and no one is reporting it. Seriously, you'd think the media would love a chance to twist and turn facts and make Israel look like a big bad bully, but it's not even doing that. Why?

Ummm we have the money and we have the troops. The United States will do what it has to do.

I doubt Israel is just going to come out after 1 hour and announce that the Pals used WMD on them. Give me a break :)

I bet Coalition troops are already massing on the Syrian border with Iraq.

I bet they're not. There is no longer any way in this world to launch an invasion without it being detected weeks in advance. The information system, the enemy within, and the urge to expose is too powerful.

Plus, there's the political urge to make the case for invasion before it happens.

You're correct. Only the living survivors will care as they writhe in pain until they too don't care.

You know the Holy Bible very well :)

"The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Isaiah 17:1

Israel won't nuke anything that's part of the biblical Land of Israel, that's for sure. But they won't need to, not to take care of the Palis, whose rat nest refugee camps are indefensible absent a willingness of Israel to put its men in the line of fire to satisfy international hypocrisy on the matter.

Will it be nukes in retaliation?

Using nukes, even neutron warheads, so close to your own territory isn't a very smart move. We could chop a few BUFFs and Bones to the IDF/AF that could do a good job with conventional weapons. Someone needs to fill up several MOAB sized devices with salt for the final treatment.

Well, I guess we have the money, it depends how fast we want to borrow ourselves to death.

A "classic" invasion of Iran would take at least 500,000 troops. That's more than the entire Active Duty Army. We right now literally have very little maneuvering room. Just about everyone is stationed or deployed somewhere, has just come away from deployment, or is preparing to deploy.

But an invasion is not what we need. The ideal military solution is to have Iranian generals defect and throw the mullahs out. That's all it would take. They won't defect unless they know they will be doing so in unison.
