Terri's Day and nation's independence protects life culture

Kevin Fobbs May 29, 2006

America's Culture of Life is truly the legacy of one woman whose death forever changed our nation because of actions that were not in her hands but in those of her husband and his lawyers. Yet for millions of Americans we will forever link our own celebration of our nation's independence to the courage of the Schindler family to go forward past the tragedy, past the personal sorrow, past the searing anguish to help America draw a distinct line in the sand, to issue a clarion call to America.

Our 4th of July is coming... Our Culture of Life Independence Day is on its way. Our month of Independence is a message that March 31st (Terri's Day) will signal, that July 4th will signal... and that the month of July will signal to defend the Culture of Life before we lose it forever.

When we talked with our family members or even our neighbors or our friends we may have spent but a moment reflecting upon why we are even gathered on a Memorial Day afternoon. Do we think about the sacrifice of our soldiers and of their families? Do we think about the long goodbyes which are never long enough... as the military families send their loved ones to war, to battle, to stand firm for our freedoms... for our life... for our nation and its values of faith?

How does Terri Schiavo and her legacy tie into this? Terri's legacy and Terri's Day is a representation of a right to live, and freedom to have the liberty to not have it compromised away, devalued by inconvenience, or litigated away by judges who celebrate a culture of death that would rob life from the womb, steal life from a hospital or hospice bed, and destroy and shatter a family's love for a daughter, a sister and aunt who was given a gift from God, but had it separated from her as easily as an ant would have its life take by an uncaring shoe... extinguished forever.

The families who send their loved ones off to war have to wonder as well, does America value their sacrifice? The families of the military have to wonder just where does its society draw the line on its values? A soldier who is in battle in Iraq or Afghanistan has to wonder if a Florida judge can take away the life of an innocent, what is the measure of his life? Would a judge in America suddenly decide that if he were injured, if he had to sacrifice a limb that the protesters outside his hospital bed would have more rights than he would or his family? Would this soldier have to wonder that if he or his fellow soldier were killed in battle, that upon their return that the protesters who would stand outside of his funeral... have more rights to be protected than the rights his family would have to a military burial with honor?

You see, the Culture of Life is about Terri Schiavo, because Americans now have to examine the life of our culture itself. We have to wonder if we as a nation of Christians and of a nation of faith and of a nation of compassion would allow for a state to murder an innocent woman and strip her family of their loved one then as a nation would we allow America to have other symbols of life, of our nation to be peeled away as well, all in open sight and in plain view of a dispassionate nation?

What does our American Culture mean if we allow millions of illegal aliens to literally browbeat us into submission by demanding that because they have stolen across our borders, demanded and received protection from local law enforcement in numerous cities throughout the U. S., obtained free or reduced educational opportunities by state public colleges that our own children could not qualify to receive the same financial aid assistance for. Are we that defenseless to let illegals strip our state coffers of housing assistance for loans and mortgages when tens of thousands in almost every state in America have legal citizens who are homeless, impoverished, or working poor or middle class Americans who need similar assistance but cannot receive it. And they are legal! They are citizens! They are Americans.

What is so wrong about our nation when we are so ready to compromise our freedoms, our culture's life, the life of an innocent and the taking of any life is the taking of our own children's life and their child's. And with each successive generation the nation and its life, its values, its traditions, and its language will disappear because we as Americans were too preoccupied — too narrow — to see that an illegal alien was taking your child's education, that a crusading death culture judge was preparing a bed, a room, a legal precedent to take your child, grandchild or sister or parent.

That is why I have stayed my course to defend the Culture of Life and to ask my fellow Americans to begin to understand that as Terri Schiavo's life was slowly ebbing from her body and as her mother Mary, father Bob, sister Suzanne, and brother Bobby waited in the Florida early morning air on March 31st, 2005, America was having part of its soul ebb away as well.

What will it take to spark an interest, a concern, and a passion for protecting one's own life? Some may say that it would take a clear and present danger — like tanks rolling down your neighborhood street or another 9/11 that strikes at the heart of America. Do we have the convenience to wait? Do we wait until a state legislature in Maine or California or Delaware or Ohio or Illinois decides that your mother's decision to live is determined by a hospital "bean counter" who decides that your mother's life is not based upon a "Will To Live" but an ability to pay her bill? What about a baby, not born, but already set for murder in the womb — not because the mother is pro-life or pro-death but because "the law" says the unborn baby's life is expendable because the baby's genes are determined to be part of a class or a group or a race or of an ethnicity which pre-programs the child, un-born, to death?

America is being murdered in small pieces. It is seeing its values, its life, its culture disemboweled with the finesse of a skilled surgeon. And it is America's poll takers and its legislators and its uncaring, disinterested, and uninvolved who are handling the scalpel. Take the scalpel away. Contact www.Terrisfight.org to join the Foundation's battle to educate America about the right to live. Go to Terri's Day on www.kevinfobbs.com to learn about new updates on Terri's Day and the event to celebrate the Culture of life.

So on Independence Day and Independence month of July will we have any Americans who will sign up and join the Culture of Life movement in their community? Even if it is to sign a pledge, hand out a flyer, become aware of legislators and judicial candidates who have agreed to stand firm for the Culture of Life — a crusade that is based not only upon the life of Terri Schiavo's legacy but equally crucial based also upon the legacy of the right to live, to defend our culture and the life of its values.

Terri's Day is not the end of a national movement but the beginning of a national contract with itself to stand for a future that our nation can guarantee for its children and for a culture that will insure life. The right to live will be Terri's legacy — our legacy... one nation under God. Join us in your homes, on your family picnics, out camping and celebrating July 14th and 15th ... Our American Culture of Life belongs to each and every one of us... We must protect it. Let's celebrate together.

Mea culpa

I accept full responsibility for the mistake, can blame nobody nor any event for this oversight, simply messed up and did not read your earlier post.

I greatly appreciate your posts here and elsewhere (and really love Colorado, as well). I apologize and offer a cyber-rose in contrition.

The masks remind me of other terrorists of like mind.

Interesting about the mass killer Saddam... A mass murderer is forced to be tube fed. An innocent is denied feeding tube. Black is white, war is peace.

Now imagine the outcry if they pull out the tube or deny him water for, say, thirteen days.

Strange bedfellows indeed. To some in Europe, our government's treatment of Terri is used as a template for how they, critics of Israel, wish we would treat Israel...

Another unthinkable conclusion I have come to is that the civilized world needs to begin to formulate certain ways and means to implement the termination of Israel as a military-political entity. Its existence as an oppressor in the region, its threat as a nuclear power, its treatment of the Palestinians together with human rights violations unmatched by few others in the civilized world plus its inability to self correct and become a productive member of the human community, I think, should have forced Israel to forfeit its membership among the society of nations. Amerika is completely responsible for the conduct and the survival of Israel. Israel could not exist without massive government and private support from the United States. It is not a self-sustaining endeavor. Make no mistake about this; I am not advocating the destruction of the nation in a military incursion like Lebanon or Iraq. Like Terri Schiavo, our support should be (gently?) withdrawn - both financial and military aid from the US government as well as a complete economic boycott by all peace-loving nations. A massive UN evacuation and resettlement of Israel’s citizens should be set up for those who wish to leave and avoid a massacre by invading elements.

No More Silence!

RINO uses the Terri symbol to make a point...

"If Sinn Fein is the political wing of the IRA, the GOP is little more than the political wing of rightwing authoritarian religious zealots," he fumed not long ago. With time on his hands and a good broadband connection even in his part of rural Maine, he's spending a lot of time reading and researching, and he's decidedly unhappy.

He is aghast at the unholy spectacle that self-professed holy people made of Terri Schiavo's last days on Earth. He's appalled that GOP leaders are obsessed with gay marriage and adoption, public school prayer and other totems of the religious right. He's angry that Republican stalwarts in Congress are filing bills calling for the "impeachment and conviction" of hapless federal judges who run afoul of religious extremists.

God's Own Party?

Thanks Les.

Saddam Hussain, mass murderer, is forced to be fed via feeding tube. Innocent Terri was forced to starve because feeding tube denied. Imagine the outrage if Saddam were allowed to starve to death. Imagine the outrage if innocent Terri and others were blocked from the attempts to starve her.

Now imagine the world outcry if they dehydrated poor Saddam for thirteen days!!

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- Saddam Hussein was hospitalized Sunday and fed with a tube on the 17th day of a hunger strike to ensure he was healthy enough to continue with his trial, the chief prosecutor said. The procedure came as the ex-leader's troubled trial nears a verdict that could lead to his hanging.

Prosecutor Jaafar al-Moussawi said he learned that Saddam's health had become ''unstable because of the hunger strike'' in a visit to the U.S.-run prison where the former ruler and seven fellow defendants are held. ''We took him to the hospital, and he is being currently fed by a tube,'' al-Moussawi said.

*cough* Bush's fault.

I don't recall that Ms. Iyers mentioned pudding and milkshakes specifically in the transcript of that interview, and if that is all they can use to justify pulling her license....

Rony is backtracking because it is BS, and Iyers can sue the pants off them.

Has anyone been checking out Burbank Karl's live threads regarding Israel/Lebanon/Syria/Iran? Very good info on those threads. God bless Israel!

Adam Tennant, from Kannopolis, North Carolina, had just driven into the church parking lot when the unruly mob piled on the car and began beating it with PVC pipe and bashing the windows with their fists.

But of course. Paying child support is a bitch. /sarc

You know, I think there will come a day where the name Terri Schindler Schiavo will be in the Webster Dictionary. I can have news on in the background at home or in the car or I can pick up a paper. Terri's still there.

In martyrdom, Terri's similar to the American Flag.

"The Flag was Still There."

I predict Terri will be in Webster's Dictionary, sooner rather than later. Won't the death cultists love that?

Email to Dave Simmons, Fla Judiciary Committee:

I am your Constitutent in re: your position on the Judiciary Committee. I am still waiting for you to take action to impeach Judge Greer.

How can you sleep at night with a criminal on the bench pulling $140K a year and bennies?

Many people know that Florida accommodates corrupt, activist judges. PAUL TIMMERMAN reports that you were thinking about impeaching Judge Greer. Please think harder. By the time you make up your mind, he will be retiring on my dime. Even old guys don't get a pass if they have broken the law. Not even the well connected Judge Greer.

http://www.judgegeorgegreer.com/

Will you defend the Constitution or corrupt judges?????? PLEASE VISIT XXX, READ about Greer's latest pass on his lawlessness. At XXX, scroll down AND LOOK AT JUDGE GREER'S 2004 TV COMMERCIAL. This is an exact duplicate of his commercial. Judge Greer should have been disqualified from the 2004 election but since the JQC consists of his cronies, they didn't bat an eye at ANY complaints registered w/them and if you checked with them now, they have had ample time to shred & delete if you will.

Please save it all on a floppy disk and study xxx's article carefully. Please download the tv commercial. If you want the "original", SUBPOENA ME AND I WILL GLADLY TURN IT OVER TO YOU.

Do something brave and honorable.

IMPEACH JUDGE GEORGE GREER. Thank you.

Judge Greer also sent out a campaign sheet with Chief Justice Harry Anstead's photo with a quote underneath that looked exactly like an endorsement. That was against the judicial canons too. The JQC and FEC gave Judge Greer a pass. Anstead's judicial assistant about had a cow over the situation but nobody ever prosecuted or disqualified Judge Greer for breaking campaign laws in addition to all the guardianship laws and judicial canons he's been breaking for years!

Greer=Semblers=Crist. Charlie Crist is not pro-life. He's in w/the corrupt judges and trial lawyers.

I will never forget what they did to Terri, her real family and the rest of us. Of course she isn't Jesus but we are made in the image of God so that's like killing God. People just don't get it.

Back to Lebanon: I had to turn msnbc off because I thought Ann Curry was about to join hezbollah right on the air! I won't be watching msnbc for any purpose again. Bye, bye Scarborough...

The whole of the Judicial system, bar any good judges out there, is corrupt when they can use the "rule of law" to trump the highest and most sacred maxims of Law ever established. To live, move, and have your being is the most sacred.

The hypocrisy lies in the fact that laws in contradiction of other laws are used, with impunity, at the discretion of judges. Ulterior motives are manifest when laws are cited to circumvent sacred Laws. For there is no good reason to trump sacred laws unless one has an ulterior motive. This is the human aspect from which our Founders sought to protect us by the separation-of-powers doctrine.

As I posted in the short treatise in an earlier post, The Executive is given Constitutional authority to tame the human aspect of judges when they clearly violate the tenets of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Of course, the violation thereof, cannot be made more clearly than as revealed in the Terri Schiavo case.

Despite the circumstances leading to Terri's death, she did not die in vain. Her death will ALWAYS be the LIVING icon and constant reminder of what matters most in Life: LIFE itself!

It is sad that history shows we humans have to be reminded of these things through tragedy and loss of Life over and over again. The spark of remembrance kindles for a time and then we forget again; until we are reminded through another loss. This repetition would cease if we were constant in living the principle.

Now, we are the forbears of a generation by whom any respect for Life is shattered through small-minded reason; and it is up to us to bear any persecution where we stand in defense of this most sacred of rights. We owe Terri that much!

Opinion Editorials: James Atticus Bowden...

The Rule of Law is based on the numbers of men and women of good will who obey the Rule of Law. The Rule of Law is diminished and, ultimately, destroyed when too many men and women reject the spirit of the law and refuse the letter of the law. The Rule of Law has been threatened in the United States of America since 1962 when the judiciary, lead by the Supreme Court (SCOTUS), seized un-Constitutional power. 1962 is a convenient demarcation for SCOTUS aggressively making up laws from the bench.

It’s gotten progressively worse with more legislative and executive powers seized by judges and unchallenged by legislators and executives throughout the federal system of governments. The impeachment of President Clinton was a clear indication that the majority of the United States Senate thought so little of the Rule of Law that they failed to do their duty and hold a trial. The failure of the legislature and governor of Florida to stop a local judge from ordering the killing of Terry Schiavo illustrated the impotence of weak men who won’t use their power to put the Rule of Law over the Rule of Judges . SCOTUS’s Kelo case’s eminent domain decisions was a direct rejection of the 5th Amendment - saying the words of the Amendment don’t mean what they say – indicating the Rule of Law is failing fast.

The Rule of Law Is Based On Numbers

Seems we weren't the only ones to see the irony in Saddam on feeding tubes. This is from Bishop Rick in the Daily Herald in Utah...

A monster who is directly responsible for the abductions, tortures, and murders of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, goes on a hunger strike of his own free will, and he is 'humanely' force fed to keep him alive.

An innocent woman who had suffered brain damage, who never harmed a living soul, who was helpless and relied upon her care-givers to feed her, is 'inhumanely' starved and dehydrated to death.
