Terri's Day and nation's independence protects life culture

Kevin Fobbs May 29, 2006

America's Culture of Life is truly the legacy of one woman whose death forever changed our nation because of actions that were not in her hands but in those of her husband and his lawyers. Yet for millions of Americans we will forever link our own celebration of our nation's independence to the courage of the Schindler family to go forward past the tragedy, past the personal sorrow, past the searing anguish to help America draw a distinct line in the sand, to issue a clarion call to America.

Our 4th of July is coming... Our Culture of Life Independence Day is on its way. Our month of Independence is a message that March 31st (Terri's Day) will signal, that July 4th will signal... and that the month of July will signal to defend the Culture of Life before we lose it forever.

When we talked with our family members or even our neighbors or our friends we may have spent but a moment reflecting upon why we are even gathered on a Memorial Day afternoon. Do we think about the sacrifice of our soldiers and of their families? Do we think about the long goodbyes which are never long enough... as the military families send their loved ones to war, to battle, to stand firm for our freedoms... for our life... for our nation and its values of faith?

How does Terri Schiavo and her legacy tie into this? Terri's legacy and Terri's Day is a representation of a right to live, and freedom to have the liberty to not have it compromised away, devalued by inconvenience, or litigated away by judges who celebrate a culture of death that would rob life from the womb, steal life from a hospital or hospice bed, and destroy and shatter a family's love for a daughter, a sister and aunt who was given a gift from God, but had it separated from her as easily as an ant would have its life take by an uncaring shoe... extinguished forever.

The families who send their loved ones off to war have to wonder as well, does America value their sacrifice? The families of the military have to wonder just where does its society draw the line on its values? A soldier who is in battle in Iraq or Afghanistan has to wonder if a Florida judge can take away the life of an innocent, what is the measure of his life? Would a judge in America suddenly decide that if he were injured, if he had to sacrifice a limb that the protesters outside his hospital bed would have more rights than he would or his family? Would this soldier have to wonder that if he or his fellow soldier were killed in battle, that upon their return that the protesters who would stand outside of his funeral... have more rights to be protected than the rights his family would have to a military burial with honor?

You see, the Culture of Life is about Terri Schiavo, because Americans now have to examine the life of our culture itself. We have to wonder if we as a nation of Christians and of a nation of faith and of a nation of compassion would allow for a state to murder an innocent woman and strip her family of their loved one then as a nation would we allow America to have other symbols of life, of our nation to be peeled away as well, all in open sight and in plain view of a dispassionate nation?

What does our American Culture mean if we allow millions of illegal aliens to literally browbeat us into submission by demanding that because they have stolen across our borders, demanded and received protection from local law enforcement in numerous cities throughout the U. S., obtained free or reduced educational opportunities by state public colleges that our own children could not qualify to receive the same financial aid assistance for. Are we that defenseless to let illegals strip our state coffers of housing assistance for loans and mortgages when tens of thousands in almost every state in America have legal citizens who are homeless, impoverished, or working poor or middle class Americans who need similar assistance but cannot receive it. And they are legal! They are citizens! They are Americans.

What is so wrong about our nation when we are so ready to compromise our freedoms, our culture's life, the life of an innocent and the taking of any life is the taking of our own children's life and their child's. And with each successive generation the nation and its life, its values, its traditions, and its language will disappear because we as Americans were too preoccupied — too narrow — to see that an illegal alien was taking your child's education, that a crusading death culture judge was preparing a bed, a room, a legal precedent to take your child, grandchild or sister or parent.

That is why I have stayed my course to defend the Culture of Life and to ask my fellow Americans to begin to understand that as Terri Schiavo's life was slowly ebbing from her body and as her mother Mary, father Bob, sister Suzanne, and brother Bobby waited in the Florida early morning air on March 31st, 2005, America was having part of its soul ebb away as well.

What will it take to spark an interest, a concern, and a passion for protecting one's own life? Some may say that it would take a clear and present danger — like tanks rolling down your neighborhood street or another 9/11 that strikes at the heart of America. Do we have the convenience to wait? Do we wait until a state legislature in Maine or California or Delaware or Ohio or Illinois decides that your mother's decision to live is determined by a hospital "bean counter" who decides that your mother's life is not based upon a "Will To Live" but an ability to pay her bill? What about a baby, not born, but already set for murder in the womb — not because the mother is pro-life or pro-death but because "the law" says the unborn baby's life is expendable because the baby's genes are determined to be part of a class or a group or a race or of an ethnicity which pre-programs the child, un-born, to death?

America is being murdered in small pieces. It is seeing its values, its life, its culture disemboweled with the finesse of a skilled surgeon. And it is America's poll takers and its legislators and its uncaring, disinterested, and uninvolved who are handling the scalpel. Take the scalpel away. Contact www.Terrisfight.org to join the Foundation's battle to educate America about the right to live. Go to Terri's Day on www.kevinfobbs.com to learn about new updates on Terri's Day and the event to celebrate the Culture of life.

So on Independence Day and Independence month of July will we have any Americans who will sign up and join the Culture of Life movement in their community? Even if it is to sign a pledge, hand out a flyer, become aware of legislators and judicial candidates who have agreed to stand firm for the Culture of Life — a crusade that is based not only upon the life of Terri Schiavo's legacy but equally crucial based also upon the legacy of the right to live, to defend our culture and the life of its values.

Terri's Day is not the end of a national movement but the beginning of a national contract with itself to stand for a future that our nation can guarantee for its children and for a culture that will insure life. The right to live will be Terri's legacy — our legacy... one nation under God. Join us in your homes, on your family picnics, out camping and celebrating July 14th and 15th ... Our American Culture of Life belongs to each and every one of us... We must protect it. Let's celebrate together.

The medical examiner's only statement that is within the purview of his job title was that "Terri died of dehydration."

His other opinions don't carry any weight because she wasn't alive at the time.

He saw her after SHE WAS MURDERED by GOP Judge George Greer, the ACLU, the husband-guardian from hell, some democrats and too many GOP to mention here.

What's the difference between Terri Schiavo and Terri Wallis? It's obvious that she was a woman and he was a man. THAT IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE. Oh, and the other thing was that TERRI WAS MURDERED because she was in a bad county in a bad state and Terri Wallis wasn't.

IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING DISABLED, DON'T MOVE TO FLORIDA. IT MAY BE YOUR LAST MOVE.

Terri's Foundation is swamped with calls and emails from people who need help. Their goal is to set up safe houses across the country for disabled Americans so that they won't be treated worse than animals and will be allowed to live without fear of being murdered by their govt.

www.terrisfight.org (they have a how you can help section).

1. new: supporting candidates 2. safe house goal 3. helping families in need 4. public awareness

There's an investigation right now at HHS ordered by the USDOJ but it may be a sham since the USDOJ stopped her rescue the day after Easter. There was what the public thought was going on and what was really going on. When it's articulated in one place, the right book on what happened to Terri, the world will know the truth.

It is the despicable truth and notice how this country has been headed in the wrong direction since Terri was starved and dehydrated to death? If it weren't for real conservatives calling the Congress and getting feisty, Harriet Miers would be on the Supreme Court and the Dubai Ports would be everywhere (they are actually in some ports here).

Terri represented all of us. When she lost her civil rights, we lost ours too.

Do you recall one of the nurses testified that people at the nursing home erased Terri's nurse's notes? What do you bet they were the notes that said how well she was progressing.

If Crist became governor, the shredders would be in high gear. But, he doesn't know where the file is with his fingerprints on it. He can't shred that DCF report. That file is at an undisclosed location and I certainly don't know where it is. Sorry, Charlie. Do you know that the DCF Dept. asked for Terri's investigative file back? They returned it to the complainant in error and asked for it back. The complainant DID NOT RETURN IT.

It may be 2008 when we have a new administration before Terri's murder is solved.

Tom Tancredo for President. He'll do it.

Dr. Thogmartin inexplicably listed cause of death as "complications of anoxic encephalopathy" -- bottom of page 2. That makes no sense. It should have been dehydration.

>> Do you recall one of the nurses testified that people at the nursing home erased Terri's nurse's notes?

Sure do. Here's is Carla Sauer-Iyers's sworn testimony on the point. Others may have mentioned it too.

I made numerous entries into the nursing notes in her chart, stating verbatim what she said and her various behaviors, but by my next on-duty shift, the notes would be deleted from her chart. Every time I made a positive entry about any responsiveness of Terri's, someone would remove it after my shift ended. Michael always demanded to see her chart as soon as he arrived, and would take it in her room with him. I documented Terri's rehab potential well, writing whole pages about Terri's responsiveness, but they would always be deleted by the next time I saw her chart. The reason I wrote so much was that everybody else seemed to be afraid to make positive entries for fear of their jobs, but I felt very strongly that a nurses job was to accurately record everything we see and hear that bears on a patients condition and their family. I upheld the Nurses Practice Act, and if it cost me my job, I was willing to accept that.

It doesn't have to be in one book. We're already well past one book -- on our way to a library. This case isn't going to go away either. We love to dig into unsolved mysteries. How DID Terri end up on the floor? (I don't believe she "collapsed.") Likewise, it is our human nature to remain intensely interested in an epochal injustice -- especially if the evil-doer is still at large. Investigation will continue. The library will grow. People will still be talking about Terri centuries from now.

There is blood on many hands. I wonder how the killers can sleep nights.

I hope they stop making political endorsements in a hurry. It cheapens their message. To the leftist mind, anyway, it makes them look as if all their love and concern for Terri were merely a stage prop for their politics. I know it's not true but that's the way it can look.

Politics and politicians are not the answer and never will be. The only lasting solution is changing hearts. The message is that it's wrong to kill.

thanks for the update FV. I heard that nurse who testified against Mikey got her Nursing Licensed taken away. That is such crap! She did her duty to her patient and she loses her job. Mikey falsify's legal documents and he gets to keep his nursing job. Does this make sense? When is someone going to look into the corruption going on in Fl??

That is exactly where Jeb failed. As it turned out, he would rather have someone murdered than to risk his job. Ms. Iyer would make a good governor.

I don't believe that's settled yet. The charge pending is that she (Carla Sauer-Iyers) violated patient confidentiality by giving an interview on CNN. But that was long after the information had been made public in a proper legal setting. The interview disclosed nothing new. Besides, as she points out, patient abuse is not a confidential family matter. Her duty as a nurse is to report it -- which she did. Her attorney doesn't think the Florida Department of Health has a real comnplaint against her.

Looks like a political hit to me.

They just need a little diversion. Like thinking how they can destroy people like Carla Iyer. If after they can achieve that, Capone and Law will be next. Then Hammesfahr. After that, you guess...

I forgot who all has to save face in this. I think the 2nd Court of Appeals, the 6th Court of Appeals, the Florida Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court. I think I am missing at least one other honorable body of Government...,,

It is a mistake in military thinking to regard the enemy as a superman. Enemies make just as many mistakes as anyone else. Likewise, criminals. They get overconfident, do something stupid, then their house of lies unravels. That's what may well happen if they push too hard for destroying the likes of Carla Iyer. Something's going to come undone.

If I were the good ol' boys in this case, I would appeal to the blessed St. Fu, patron saint of silence, and hope the whole thing goes away. (It won't, but that's the best play they have.) You are exactly right, the "boys" go all the way up to the Supreme Court.

Her family's hesitance to publicly endorse Greer's opponent Jan Govan for judge may have gotten Greer re-elected. I heard this from other Govan supporters, not from Govan himself. However, Govan got 60K votes which isn't chicken feed. For that day, Govan got the 2nd highest number of votes. Greer came in first. There were a lot of races that day and Govan did well. Greer with the Pinellas GOP's Daley-esque machine backing him and helping him cheat won and Terri was murdered as Greer, et al planned all along.

That is why I'm glad that they are going with their gut if they feel like endorsing a candidate.

Not only did Mikey falsify documents but he was hired by the Sheriff who closed the initial investigation into Terri's collapse, where Jodi Centonze's mother worked, Mikey is now a supervisor for the Sheriff's Dept. at the women's jail and he makes 70K salary.

AFTER HIRING MICHAEL SCHIAVO (right before Terri's final battle against starvation/dehydration atrocity) Sheriff Everett Rice went to Tallahassee, FL unopposed and VOTED in March of 2005 FOR TERRI TO BE KILLED.

The caps are for emphasis, not shouting. Sheriff Everett Rice is a key player in Terri's murder. He is now running for Florida's Attorney General. I guess if you have a big hand in pulling off the crime of the century, in Florida, you can run for chief law enforcement officer and in that case, God help us all.

We are still here in case little details start to slip away from the public's memory.

Former Sheriff Rice is a corrupt weasel. He helped killed Terri and for some reason, the Pinellas Cty Sheriff hired Michael Schiavo as if he's the only nurse in town? And, he falsified his records.

Theft of Terri's rehab monies, coverups, rewards-nepotism. Terri's extermination is still seriesly hugh.

Like I said, the feds will have to bust this out. Florida is not going to go after the bad guys. There are too many.

It's a political hit against Carla. Look, they murdered Terri. Taking away someone's career in every state is nothing after you've murdered an innocent woman. Carla's just another innocent woman/victim sponsored by the state of Florida.

I wonder if Eileen Sullivan attends Dr. Donald Sullivan's family reunions. She's the complainant and he's the former head of Florida's DOH. He voted against Terri in 2003.

If they are EVEN THIRD COUSINS or whoever is trying to ruin her life, it is state sponsored to be sure.
