Yep, according to the eco-worshippers if we allow drilling on 0.0105% of ANWR land, that will SURELY destroy all living creatures as we know it in ANWR. LOL!

No, I'd be the candidate pushing for drilling the entire ANWR area even if gas was a 1.25 gallon. It the RINOS that worry me.

Omnibus Immigration Bill - Illegal Aliens Drilling ANWR!
To: Go Gordon
"An election in which the voters will be paying $3.00/gallon for gas to drive to the polls and cast their vote. Would you want to be a candidate that voted NO on ANWR?"
My point exactly.
Plus the Senate actually voted for it last time. In a way I'd really love it for the RATS to commit political hari-kar, in this election year of high gas prices, by filibustering the ANWR bill, like they did once before. That will just make our task in November much, much easier.
No one can self-destruct like the RATS.

if we allow drilling on 0.0105% of ANWR land There are plenty of creatures on the Gulf Coast NWRs, a lot more than in ANWR, and they have oil/gas industry right next door.

I think we should go back to letting the State legislators vote for our US Senators. Why did we ever switch? Has any one done the number on how it would US Senate makeup change if we went back to that?
The thing is I used to think that there would really not be much difference but the more I look at it, it just seem you get a a far more responsive person if you elect from smaller voting blocks
IE the average congressmen is elected by small districts for short terms and it used be that senator's were elected by State legislators
I'm inclined to think that State legislators, who are also elected by small districts for short term, like congressmen would elected senator's that mirrors that temperament more that the the now state wide direct elect of senator's
At the very least as State legislators changed ever two years, and they would have a greater leverage on the senator during that six year term...
As odd and counterintuitive is it might seem but the indirect elect senator's of the old system might just be more responsive to the people then the direct elect by the people..
That six year term in DC seem to develop an Imperious "Let them eat cake" view of the "great unwashed" back home

Don't be toooo sure the Senate won't pass it. The talk is about oil dependency with FOREIGN nations who really don't like us....And the Unions were pi**** about not drilling.
2000 acres is nothing. Why should Alaska be denied reasonable use of its assets?
Environmentalists think nothing should change in an everchanging world. WHACKOS!!

So what, the Senate will take time out from selling out the country on immigration to stop any energy independence.

You mean like your RATS pal Mation Barry here?
"Eighteen jurors, intent on missing no detail, watched yesterday as a television screen showed D.C. Mayor Marion Barry taking two long drags from a crack pipe in a room at the Vista Hotel on Jan. 18. It was the first public screening of the FBI videotape that showed Barry's arrest on drug possession charges.
Within moments, the screen became a blur of sound and action as FBI agents stormed the room, grabbing Barry, placing him up against a wall with his arms outstretched and reading him his rights before leading him away in handcuffs.
The enraged Barry muttered over and over, "Bitch set me up . . . . I shouldn't have come up here . . . goddamn bitch" -- references to the woman who lured him to the hotel, former girlfriend Hazel Diane "Rasheeda" Moore. "
That's the stench of the sleazy loony left and drugs right there for ya.

We already did., the moment The Republican House voted for it.
We have put the RATS in the Senate on the spot.

They not only use gas, but they are a constantly renewable source of gas. Just listen to their speeches.
OH, yeah, the gas they use in their vehicles. You mean you actually think they pay for it?
