Jim McGreevey shockingly admits that before he became governor of New Jersey, he'd have anonymous gay sex at Garden State highway rest stops.
"All I knew was that my behavior was getting crazier and crazier," McGreevey says of his torrid truck-stop trysts in an upcoming book that details his tortured life of lies and sexual repression.
"With each new encounter, I was getting nearer and nearer to being caught - which surely would have generated headlines, especially after I became executive director of the state parole board" in the mid-1980s.
"The closet starves a man, and when he gets a chance he gorges till it sickens him," he writes in his book, titled "The Confession."
McGreevey revealed to The Post that he spent time in a psychiatric hospital at an Episcopalian monastery in the Hudson Valley after his stunning resignation as governor in 2004.
And he describes in the book his fruitless attempts to conquer or hide his homosexuality by ogling Playboy centerfolds, frequenting strip clubs and becoming "as avid a womanizer as anybody else on the New Jersey political scene."

Yeah. Sin does that, Jim.
If McGay not been so stupid as to place his Israeli lover in a key government postion, Jimmy would be headed for higher office with the blessings of the Democrats.
McGreevey was a typically duplicitous Democrat who lied to voters about his lifestyle and scammed them into voting for him, chiefly by making a sham marriage.
Two weeks after then-Woodbridge Mayor McGreevey proposed marriage to Dena (now his ex-wife), he was in Israel on a politicans' obeisance tour locking eyes with lovebird Golan Cipel, then brought Cipel to NJ, and set him up in an apartment closeby for late night assignations. Cipel later complained McG hounded him for sex.
Jimbo then got Dena wed and pregnant just in time for the governor's race---and some nice photo-ops.
Later, when it became clear McGreevey had broken numerous state and federal laws, not the least of which was putting lover Golan Cipel in charge of the state's safety and security, McGreevey "outed " himself, and conveniently became a "victim" in order to cash in later.
Taxpayers should find out the price tag they paid for Jimmy to shut Cipel up. They both beat the law, with Cipel absconding to Israel, getting off scot-free from having to face the music for their numerous crimes against the state.
Soon to be a major motion picture, I suppose.
Oh MY GOD.
I will never look at rest stops the same way...ever again.
Think when I travel GSP I will make sure we have enough snacks packed & all went potty before we leave the house!!!
I was under the assumption that they were "rest stops" not "sex stops"---thought the gays all went to Asbury Park for sex stops.
I can't see myself hanging out in rest stops to pick up men even if I were gay.
I guess it screws the whole company up when you combine the shipping and receiving departments into one warehouse.
Upon declaring himself a "gay American" it was clear to me he would would re-invent himself as a gay hero and role model. This book is the next phase of his metamorphosis. In keeping with the gay myth, he spent the last two years in a monastic cell--the chrysalis phase. Now he can emerge a beautiful butterfly.
I didn't know that Episcopalians had monasteries. You reckon he meant a seminary?
The dems didn't care at all. And they still don't care.
Everyone in NJ knew for at least ten years before he was elected Governor, that he was a homosexual living a risky lifestyle. Picking up boys in parks, etc.
Wasn't he married at the time?
I guess that's where people naturally go when they are confused about their exits and entrances...
He is such a disgrace to his family and our state - makes me sick he just doesn't stfu - but that's now the way for rat dems - the more perverse the prouder and louder they get.
that's hilarious! lol
I can't believe you're not here.
"Unbelievable" ping.
Maybe he'll jump on her couch so we can see how much he loves his latest partner.
[cue Willie Nelson--"On The Road Again"]
Sounds more like the Catcher/Pitcher Service Area...
He really knows how to choose his words....what a creep!
