Protest prompts Sen. Hillary Clinton to cancel visit to Hartford

...the Connecticut Association of United Hispanic Agencies Inc. at the Hartford Civic Center... said Clinton decided not to attend because of a protest planned by the Greater Hartford-New Britain Building and Construction Trades Council. The council announced that it was holding the rally to protest ING Group Inc., which had been a sponsor of Saturday's event, because of its decision to not guarantee work for minority contractors and other Connecticut construction workers as it builds a new facility in Windsor... Carmen Sierra, executive director of CAUSA, said the trades council demanded last week that ING withdraw because of the dispute. She said ING did withdraw its involvement and financial support for the event earlier this week, but the trades council then reneged on an agreement it made with CAUSA about the protest.

Perhaps she heard they would ask HARD questions. She always avoids that.

She cheats, but more seriously, she has a campaign apparatus (including loophole organizations to work around McCain-Feingold) with very deep pockets, support from the none-too-entertaining entertainment industry, and of course, partisan media shills. Even Howard Dean's DNC chairmanship works in her favor, because when he is replaced (by Hillary, or resigns and is replaced by someone she favors), everyone in the Dhimmicrat apparatus will breathe a sigh of relief. After all, the radical minority which powers Code Pink, ANSWER, and other b...s... thug groups will spend the foreseeable future protesting against the other party.

She could, if she can be beaten in the Senate race this year. OTOH, Nixon lost the governor's race in 1962, and was sworn in as POTUS in 1969.

Since GWB has caused all the bad weather that will ever come, I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet. ;')

If she expects to run for the big one, she's going to
have bare all, and it won't be a petty sight.

How many ways can I reply to that?? LOL. If ever she should bare all, we would run in fright and it wouldn't be pretty but it would be petty.

Gottcha!

Are we on a serious thread?

Had she shown up, the cameras would have been rolling, and this little partisan squabble would have gotten a great deal of coverage.

As if the media is going to deny any of her "requests" while she passes the Secret Service off as her personal thug squad. The worst thing about Hillary is how she doesn't mind indulging in fascism if she's reasonably sure she'll get away with it.

Do we have an American "James Bond" kind of guy under service? There's way too many supervillains running around.

That walk in the park to the nomination is not going to go smoothly. Anyone who believe that we have the only civil war has not been paying attention to the Rats'.

HilaryCare has to decide who to pander to which day.

Well...I am not sure if I should hope history does or doesn't repeat itself in that case.

NOT implying in any way that former First Ladies be harmed. They all paid more than we'll ever know by marrying the guys they did.

What's interesting about this is that it shows that in '08 she will expect the hands-off treatment the press gave her all along...and she'll get it, from everyone except FOX. And now with her best pal being Murdoch, who knows?

Wow!

What leadership stripes!

Not!

It's her traditional yellow political stripe.

Why can't we do it?? We could just plan a huge protest for every speaking engagement she has. She's obviously afraid to
cause controversy, to let her real feelings be known.
She might even say what she really thinks with that foul mouth of hers given enough chances at a microphone. This is good news folks, she's running scared.

I'll bet she doesn't want to be seen with the hispanic organization either.

Yeah, I noticed that too.

IF it had been a repubbie/conservative/pro-ife/pro-Christianity group that was protesting, Hillary would have "braved" the hecklers and "right-wing shrill- voiced reactionary extremists."

Instead, its a union and an Hispanic group - and Hillary, of course, jumps.

And the media covers (for) her.

Maybe Hartford is a little more violent than Chappaqua?

Or can't afford the oh-so-high fuel price for the broomstick?
