How does a wall prevent illegals from using a boat?

Hope he's not putting them there to protect the criminals' safe arrival in the United States (what with all the evil Minutemen and Arizona posse and all...)

Annie looks a little "annierexic".

Let's send this child to camp.

Feed her some good vittles.

And some manners while she's there.

And how to use a compass that doesn't tell her she's the center of the universe.

A wall by itself is no big deal of an obstacle to overcome. All you need is a ladder, a rope, stairs, whatever.

Hot damn. I've been asking for this for years. Have each unit rotate in, spend part of their 2 weeks field training down on the border. Shouldn't cost any more--maybe some extra transportation costs.

This will help while the fence is being built.

I would HATE to be married to one of the border trolls.

HUSBAND: "Honey, I took out the trash, cleaned the kitchen, mowed the lawn, made dinner, and found time to buy you this anniversary ring!"

WIFE: "NOT GOOD ENOUGH! You didn't get me a 1 carat diamond! You don't love me! I'm moving back in with mother!"

"It's got more credibility on this issue than any administration in recent memory."

That's an absolute lie. This administration is even more lax than the Clinton administration was. Workplace enforcement plummeted when Bush took office.

Unless they start buiding the wall it's all BS and we all know it despite how much you OBL types wopuld like to hype this suspect news.

This is a ploy to push his guest worker agenda, no less, no more. I don't believe the American public will fall for it this time.

Looks like a token gesture to placate the masses. There's no reason to believe he's changed his mind about illegal immigration.

However, I do not want to hear talk of a guest worker program until we have improved border security to significant extent.

Next to improved security, the most important threat in this whole mess is the 'path to citizenship' in proposed 'guest worker' programs being pushed by many politicians. Bad idea - 12 million new citizens plus their dependents is enough to change the voting demographic in this country for generations to come.

Americans need to think on that long & hard.

From that story:

Under the Civil War-era Posse Comitatus Act, federal troops are prohibited from performing law enforcement actions, such as making arrests, seizing property or searching people.

But I'm pretty sure he can use federal troops to keep foreign invaders out.

I will get back on the reservation if Bush is going beyond symbolism and taking real action to secure our southern border.

Right on, jpsb.

The President will not announce a fence or a mass deportation ... so clearly the 'Jorge' folks won't be happy.

But putting the military on the border ... if it is more than symbolic ... is what many conservatives have been calling for months. It was the conservative pipe dream before the fence talk started dominating the discussion.

But nomatter what he does, it won't be "enough".

Not for the Dims. However, taking a big dramatic step toward stemming the tsunami of illegal immigration might molify voters enough to keep them voting Republican.

The problem with his approval numbers is that even though many of us might be ticked off and disapproving, we still wouldn't vote Dim come election time.
