When, where, how many? The only acceptable strategy is to seal the border totally once and for all. If he does that I applaud him.

Is DHS going to be tipping off the Mexican government as to where the troops are deployed?

It took him how many years to "get the point."? He's been moving as fast as molasses in a New England winter on this issue, meanwhile hundreds of thousands have been flooding across in hopes of cashing in on HIS amnesty proposals. Do you want me to dance a jig of joy or something over his lack of initiative on this?

I'm just wondering if it's to get the Minutemen off the border so the illegals can be escorted into the US by US troops instead of coyotes.

Would that be the Mexican border, the Canadian border, the Kentucky/Virginia border, what?

This would be a positive step; but what is crucial is that the talk of guest worker plans and paths-to-citizenship (amnesty) be scrapped until the border bleed has stopped. The mere debate has encouraged an even worse flood of illegals than usual. If his take is, "I'm sending the national guard to the border ok, so let's get my guest-worker plan passed", that won't make anyone happy.

Don't know how to put a high voltage electric fence in though.

Sounds to good to be true, fingers crossed until monday. But if this is true, it is an excellect move. It will reveal the Rats as the open borders, anti Americans, lying hypocrits they are. This will COMPLETELY turn the tables on the Rats and give the GOP an issue to beat the snot out of them. Hope there is not a big amnesty thing in it.

Watch Bush's numbers bounce back if it's true.

I know that people love to think that the federal government can not do two things at once (and I whole heartedly agree that it can), but at this point I am happy with baby-steps. Anything, anything to maybe get this presidency (and FR) back on track.

If he starts using the Guard, I don't see any reason why the border States don't fill in the gaps with more Guard.

To carry out coordinated attacks on the Minutemen, I assume?

Personally, I think Ann Coulter would be better served by saying this more often:

"Hi, may I have the large roast beef sub with Provolone and Swiss cheese, mayo and onions? Thanks."

Just my opinion based on that photo.

We reserve that part for ourselves to build. Wouldn't want them to see the way to override the system.........

Don't bother to try reason with the Border fanatics.

Personally, I'm thrilled with this step. It definitely shows he's listening about our border concerns.

Securing the border is step number one.

If that could be done, we can deal with the other problem without panic.

In spite of the hostility engendered (in me and lots of others) by these marches and demands, I think we could accommodate a lot of the people who are here, using various standards, etc.

It's the constant influx that's scary.

Let's see what happens.

Big deal. I'll belive when I see it. And if they (the NG) implement the same "catch and release" pogrom as the Border Patrol has been ordered, then what is the point?

Perhaps the troops will escort the illegals in so that they won't be inconvenienced.

Sure he will. "We'll put the Guard on the border, and give amnesty to everyone who are here or can get in before we deploy."

While not an optimal situation, it is a whole lot better than we have right now, eh?
