I really, truly believe that is a figment of your imagination.I really, truly don't think so, ray.
Do you know how many good freepers are pulling away from this forum because of the hatred here? Do you know how many have been attacked mercilessly, even when in agreement on the issue, just because we don't hate the President? Do you know how many are so filled with hate that they invade every single thread to make sure we all know how evil President Bush is?
I think the wheat may be separating from the chaff here..........but there IS chaff, and it's really ugly. It's not my imagination. It's VERY real.

Bush will not put troops on the border without an act of Congress. He does not have that authority within the US.

Bush will not put troops on the border without an act of Congress. He does not have that authority within the US.He can if he declares a National Emergency. Hell, Eisenhower deployed the Guard during desegregation...

HUH?
How did we get from NOT allowing ILLEGAL ALIENS to over run our country to concentration camps and ovens? People like you are VERY scary. Logic is missing and what comes out of your mouth is leftist claptrap.

Where we going to get the manual labor after we deport all the Mexicans. When you have full employment and people leaving the entry level jobs where you going to find people to work those jobs?
I have asked that question 20 times here and have yet to get a serious answer. Here are the usual knee jerks:
Raise the wage so Americans will do it. If you raise the wages you will get more Mexicans than ever.
Have welfare workers do it. RIIIIIIIIIGHT!! You are going to turn welfare moms into migrant workers and labor intensive workers.
Bring legal immigrants. Hello, isn't that what your trying to stop?
The only ligitimate answer is a Guest Worker program unless some genius here has a better one.

Doesn't the Governor of each state have jurisdiction over the National Guard assigned to that state?

Somehow the moniker "bray" fits you. It's what the symbol for the Democratic Party does - they bray all the time. Go to extremes, have no respect for laws and make absolutely no sense at all.

Rational discussion is disallowed in these Bush/Mexican hatefests. Don't expect any serious answers outside of the usual Rockefeller Republican responses. You are seriously asking to be zotted.

Doesn't the Governor of each state have jurisdiction over the National Guard assigned to that state? Well in theory, they can be federalized but it would have to be either a congressional act or the border declared a national emergency and placed under martial law.

I know you didn't post to me, but I must give my little opinion--the personal attacks coming from the "I hate Bush" crowd are really starting to wear thin.....
Now waiting with bated breath for you to call me a sissy...Go On---

So--If the Governors have jurisdiction over the NG, then the hate Bush crowd is blaming the wrong guy...Am I wrong?
Here's something constructive FReepers can do then...If you are for securing the border with the National Guard, then write or phone the Governors!

So--If the Governors have jurisdiction over the NG, then the hate Bush crowd is blaming the wrong guy...Am I wrong? Well the border governors could call up their guard but it would be hideously expensive. If we are going to do this it will have to be permanent because as soon as the troops leave the illegals will just start right back up. That is one hell of a big commitment of our stretched armed forces.

>>The President had these same views since before he was elected President, and this didn't become an issue until a month or two ago, but of course everyone here claims he's been been posting on this issue 24/7 since November 2000.
We finally express these views, and within weeks the President is taking the very action people here have been requesting. <<
Come on, we need to be fair - you are not seriously suggesting that conservatives only began expressing concern about immigration "a month or two ago?" And then did you really say that within weeks the President did "the very action we have been requested?"
Be serious. Do you remember the amnesty effort? Do you remember years of complaints? Conservatives have to be sensible about immigration - we can't pretend this just suddenly appeared and the President magically solved it any more than than we can suggest violence and revolt. We consevrvatives are supposed to be the sensible people who don't blow with the wind or lose our heads - we are the ones the country depends on be stable, dependable and honest.

I don't "hate" Bush as the leftist here do.
I totally disagree with his policy on disregarding our laws on ILLEGAL ALIENS. We have a legal process in place. Just as others came here LEGALLY, Mexicans should also be REQUIRED to ADHERE to and RESPECT and ABIDE by ALL our laws.
As for you moniker ... you don't strike me as a "sissy".

I receive FReepmails from some of those people who support me and encourage me but are afraid to even post their own responses in these threads. It is unfortunate. I hope you're not under the impression that that doesn't work both ways.
Hundreds of people aren't posting on these threads for fear of being labeled open border lovers, and worse.
The rest of us get Freepmail, too. Try not to act like this is all going one way.
