Headline only so far...
Well I'm not familiar with what's going on in WA but I am aware of what's happening down here.
Is it better now? Just got back....
Now, I will don my flame-proof jacket, but that is basically the truth on the economic issue. But there are other reasons, namely crime and national security, for why we need to essentially seal the borders ASAP.
Wow. You really despise our Commander in Chief, don't you?
Please! This is nothing but window dressing. Does he think we're fools (of course he does!)?
As soon as Bush gets his amnesty bill passed, the National Guard will be recalled and it will be back to the status quo.
If a 'certain poster' doesn't like what others post, that 'certain poster' can "...pound sand."
After all, that's what a 'certain poster' posted to me in January.
well there will obviously have to be gates along the border which when the wall is finished we can escort them through...no problemo! LOL
No just very disappointed and fearful we've lost this country. You dont live in the Bay Area of California do you?
Sheriff Arpaio on Fox today came out against the troops on our borders idea. He stated that the BP and local LEO can do the job, implying: IF ALLOWED TO.
First, let's make sure that they will COOPERATE with the Minutemen that are on the border to observe and report how our government is performing its sworn duty - and that we never again hear these patriots referred to as "vigilantes" by any federal official at any level, ALL THE WAY TO THE VERY TOP!
Second, the President should award the Medal Of Freedom to the founders of this organization, for their service in reminding elected officials that they are servants of the people, NOT masters.
Third, end "catch and release". Catch the invaders at the border, get fingerprints and a picture, and send them back immediately, with a warning that if they are ever seen in the US again without valid documentation they will do hard time.
Fourth, It is time to take the employment eligibility verification process out of the hands of potential employers. Every employer has a telephone, and almost every one also has - or can obtain - a computer, a fax, and internet access. In fact, even a new cell phone with picture capability would work. The employer should transmit the name, sex, D.O.B., age, SSN, picture, and images of all identification documents presented to the INS (or other clearing house) along with the employer ID and password.
The SSN would be checked for validity and matched against current employment (tax withholding) records for duplication/ID theft and plausibility, and either approve, disapprove (due to a bad SSN, name/number mismatch, or other obvious conflict), or issue a caution due to a conflict such as current employment elsewhere. Anything indicating a possible ID theft would trigger a warning to the legitimate holder of the name or number.
The job-seeker could clear the caution by visiting an INS office for investigation or waiting for the discrepancy to resolve itself. Of course, if you find out that someone else has stolen your number and ID, you would go to the police to resolve the problem.
Note that this data is already collected quarterly, so this is not the imposition of a new "big-brother" system on all of us. The update frequency would need to be increased, to monthly or bi-weekly, and yes, some additional personnel and databases would be needed, but it would remove the primary lure to illegal aliens sneaking into our Country.
Wrong. We've expelled 720,000 of them. The other 5.3 million left voluntarily. Shows we don't need to officially deport the 12-20 million that are still here to get most of them to leave. And, since new (or return) illegals are arriving here in droves everyday, so what?
(And my daughter is in San Diego).
Also, for any of the usual suspects whining about immigration on this thread, a 250 person posse of sheriffs in Arizona only captured ONE immigrant last night.

Or are you one of the 'bushbots are all stupid' folks, who turns away people who want to help, just because they don't have a disdain for the President like you do?
Posted to me - S/B - posted about me.
Gee........where have I heard THAT accusation before?
funny story, timely and ironic, my father was in the Army National Guard under "Black Jack" Pershing in 1916 when they were chasing Poncho Villa below the border.
