Curious that he never mentions the outrage over illegal immigration.

I thought Bush didn't look at the polls.

President Bush, his approval ratings at a record low, acknowledged Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.

To me, it's (a) illegal immigrants and (b) uncontrolled spending, (c) abysmal pubic relations efforts against opponents of the war on Islamic terror.

Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.

That isn't the reason in my book. My support in him hasn't changed about the war and never will.

He needs to start talking about what is really the reason for his sinking numbers and support. That 900 pound gorilla in the room.

No Mr. President. Most of us support you on Iraq and know that there isn't a lot you can do about the gas prices. What we are concerned about are our borders.

"There's a sense of disquiet because of the war in Iraq"

Boy, this is definitely a rhetorical world away from "Mission Accomplished".

This is the stupidest thing I have heard the President say since his last statement on illegal immigration:

Bush also said he did not like the idea of U.S. companies paying for the right to drill in Cuban waters. "I think the money would go to -- I know the money would go to support a government that is suppressing the rights of its people," he said.

In other words, it is okay to buy oil directly from oppressive governments in Mexico, Venezuela, Iran, Nigeria, and others, but not okay for American Companies to drill in Cuban waters?

If he were serious on the war on terror, he would have to remind himself it's going to be a long - long program, probably intergenerational. Unless he wants to see our folks climbing onto helicopters from the roof of our Embassy, he has to change.
He knows good and well the polls showing 79% of the people of this nation want those borders sealed. So if his policies result in the 'R's losing Congress, we'll know he was never serious ... just smoke and mirrors.

I am really disappointed in all of you. This is free republic right? What has W done that should be scaring the crap out of everyone here?

My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy. Too much movement towards a secure state.

#2 needs to handle press better on Iraq.

I'm behind W tho. Definitely lesser of two evils.

Mr. President, you're starting to sound like your father.

You can't "address" a problem if you won't even publicly recognize what's really causing it.

Here's a hint: "La frontera, la frontera, la frontera."

Good heavens. Is the Pres. insulated from the truth, or just ignoring it?

I don't know too many people who are ticked off at him about the war or fuel prices, but I know plenty who are ticked off at him about illegals, big government and insane federal spending for pork.

I wish I could agree that Bush is simply a moron on immigration.. but thats not so.. He knows more than you or I do about it.. Its ON PURPOSE.. Multi millions of illegal and legal alien(democrats) insurgents is ON PURPOSE...

Bush is RE-vitalizing the democrat party ON PURPOSE...
What do you call that.. TREASON?.. NAH!.. there is another word, and that word is Turn-Coat.. While all eyes are on Iraq, Bush is dismantling headquarters.. Changeing the voting demographics in the U.S. for the future(and maybe the present).. ON PURPOSE...

It is no accident or geo-political game.. its serious business... ON PURPOSE..
Bush is globalist.. Considering what a globalist could gain by a huge influx of people into the political process that could care less about borders.. is obvious..

Bush and everyone else in Washington has poll numbers well below 50 per cent which indicates to me that the same old spin doesn't work anymore. Maybe they should try some old fashioned stuff like don't pass any news laws until they have political will to enforce the ones on the books and you cannot increase government spending with money that has to be borrowed.

Rove to Bush:

But at least Americans still love your immigration policies, sir.

The media would love this thread. It would give them encouragement that their relentless attacks on Bush have finally eroded his base. Meanwhile, the left is crowing "We told you he sucked!"
