Especially since that's the major cause of his polls dropping.

>>Curious that he never mentions the outrage over illegal immigration.<<

that's not the main thing that people site - the study I looked at listed immigratio fourth behind Iraq, Gas prices, the economy(and yes I know that ridiculous) and then immigrations.

My three main concerns don't even make the list - terrorism, individual rights and the deficit.

Curious that he never mentions the outrage over illegal immigration.

Or, his botched handling of Hurricane Katrina.
Or, the Harriet Miers fiasco.
Or, the Dubai ports deal.
Or, etc., etc..

Rove told Bush not to talk about Borders. Kind of like Yale and that Taliban jerk. They're both just hoping it will go away.

This has less to do with Iraq and more to do with Immigration, tort reform, lack of a comprehensive energy policy ( gas prices), and so many without health insurance. W should be at the mike daily, ala Truman, screaming at the Do-Nothing Congress.

Yea, illegal immigration is not bothering anyone. There is no need for him to address that. /sarcasm off

Sounds more like Jimmy Carter and his 'malaise' than sunny Ronald Reagan.

Curious that he never mentions the outrage over illegal immigration.

There was this:

Though Bush spent much of his time talking about the Iraq war and gas prices, he also addressed a handful of other issues. Among them:

Immigration. As the Senate resumes work on immigration reform, Bush repeated his support for a guest worker program. "Hopefully we can get a bill out that reflects the principles that I've espoused, which is a strong border security measure, coupled with interior enforcement, measures that will be effective, coupled with a temporary worker program." One of the prerequisites to citizenship, he said, should be to learn English.

He's tone deaf, color blind, and psychologically in denial.

He is right. The NEA has done a good job of dumbing down Americans and now the Old Media is very effective. The fact that the Iraq war is necessary, the fact that we are being kept safer because of it, is lost on the average Amercian. In addition, the fact that the President has no way to control the cost of gas is lost on the average American.

I know the average FReeper is much more knowledgeable so we have real issues, but in my experience, the average American can't hold a candle stick to the average FReeper. To them it is gas prices and a drawn out war.

"Deepening concerns about the war, as well as the current standoff with Iran over its nuclear ambitions and high gas prices at home "have caused Americans to really take a look at the future and wonder whether or not it's as good as they want it to be. I understand that.""

Is it really possible that he's this far out of touch with whats going on with his base? If he is then the Repubs are in even worse trouble than I thought. Close the damned border! Now!

What is it with POTUS and senor Fox anyway? Can't one of Bush's high powered advisors tell him:

"No Mas ilegal inmigración, por favor!"
