Cheney would be good. This country needs someone tough as nails and sharper than his adversaries who has his own network to cover his backside as well as that of the President (and the country's).

No impact on the financial markets, and they can usually smell something politically bad for Bush.

Sounds like a mutiny over there.

There are early indications of that in the talking heads' remarks, but people are by and large baffled. The spin over the next day or two is going to give us all whiplash.

There to stab Bush in the back, no doubt.

Exactly, and he surely did.

I dont think anyone is implying that Goss has some personal indiscretion. But I think its a pretty established fact that the number 3 guy is being looked at over at CIA. PLus remember we have a Federal Prosecutor looking into CIA related things. Those invstigations can go off into different directions if he gets info. Now I ma not saying that its related to that. But the CIA has a lot of people looking at it right now. THe fact is I find it hard to believe that the CIA director would just resign to spend more time with his family without giving Bush more notice. I hope I am wrong. But its good to be prepared.

There are TONS of them...they are all hold overs from Stansfield Turner....Once again showing that we are still having to deal with the Jimmy Carter Presidency.

Uh...President Bush is about to announce something about White House personnel. What does that have to do with your philosophy about immigration. I know it's hard, but do try to keep to the thread topic. You can find many immigration threads to post on.

You must not have gotten the memo. Every thread is now an immigration thread.

It's easy and fun to do. Pick a thread at random and make the following reply:

"That's interesting, but I wonder what his stance is regarding the terrific idea of putting landmines on the border."
You'll become very popular among a certain segment here.

Oh well, guess I'm evil. But it does make sense. Hookergate is a reasonable explanation for this sudden resignation.

I still don't like the way this story is playing out..... It just doesn't make good sense, when all of today's news from the WH has been positive, (ie economy).....All of a sudden a dark cloud was cast.

Typical from Kristol. The best analysis will probably be on Brit's show tonight...if anything else is known at that time, otherwise we wait for speculation to become facts.

And exactly what did I accuse him of? I speculated that this has something to do with the resignation. Whether that means him, or Foggo, or simply something happening on his watch, I don't know. We know that Wade/Wilkes had some kind of 'intel' contract. Could be tied in to that. I have no idea.

This entire thread is about speculation. 200 posts in no one had mentioned the only thing other than McCarthy that has put Goss in recent news. I did. I noted his denial. I haven't said his denial is false. That is quite a bit different from making a factual allegation without citation to anything.

So, you can call it selective all you want. I'd say your feigned outrage is a bit selective.

Goss couldn't keep his duck in his pants?

That does sound like a bit of a problem.
