put Bolton ahead of the CIA.I was thinking that a short time ago. I think some heads would roll if Bolton was there.

Has anone considered that Goss may run for the US Senate seat in Florida to kick that idiot Katherine Harris out of the way? Someone alluded to it above, but it's certainly a possibility. But in the grand scheme of things I think cleaning the CIA out is more important than stealing a Senate seat.

The bottom line is they don't seem to have any idea why this happened The are interviewing Stansfield Turner who is saying this is because Goss was passed over for director of National Intelligence.

Funny, that was my first thought. Second thought was that maybe the man is in ill-health (cancer). It didn't occur to me til I went on this thread that it could have anything to do with hookers, Iran, bribery, blackmail or last but not least immigration.
Naive, I know.

Sorry, but the good news is you can see her on TV. She played Meg on a 60s period drama called American Dreams which I thought was quite good, and I got a little crush on her, in a grandfatherly way, of course.

Exactly, it's all speculation at this point. Rush has stated he has no idea as to why Goss resigned and has refused to join in the speculation until more is known.

Gee, I'm so glad that Fox News is going with 90% reporters and Democrats giving analysis, and only a token Republican occassionally mixed in. Now the nutcase Bob Graham is spewing BS.

Something there. Perhaps it's like a limit for hunting season. Each CIA Drector can only put a certain number of trophy heads on the wall until he has to let the next guy have a turn.

Porter J. Goss found out about the Shadow Givernment.. Instead of exposing it..That's my guess as well. My post #385.

Damn. Thanks for the explanation, lugsoul. Do these men's libidos ever wind down???? You'd think running the country would eventually become more important. :-/
I'm going to be gone all weekend, away from all computers. :-(
Will someone freepmail me with links? I'll be checking my pings Monday morning.
Have a great freeping weekend, all.

I don't think he's involved with that .. though I'm not surprised some would bring it up
If I was to guess ... there is some kind of power struggle in the CIA that's going on

Huh? It has been alleged in print. Within the past two weeks. Then he resigns. You think no one should post that because none of us have the evidence? If that is the standard, 99.8% of what gets posted on this forum is inappropriate. And here's Mr. Barrister, who's constantly raggin' on posters for not backing up accusations with evidence, defending the posting of accusations with no evidence.
A bit selective, aren't we, Counselor?

Could former President Bush take over the position as CIA director? He would be trustworthy and he has run the department before.
Pres. Bush does tend to find people he fully trusts. Could the new director be former Pres. Bush or VP Cheney.
If there are anti-forces working in the CIA - who better to be at the head than one of these two men.
