May 1 closures: who to boycott? Rallies (Live thread)
05/01/06

Posted on 04/30/2006 9:38:02 PM PDT by Heartofsong83

This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!

Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!

Right, planned, but not carried through yet, or we'd have heard about it.

I can tell you what my "Day With Immigrants" went like here in Los Angeles. I have already worked a whole work day.

The immigrants shut down the over-priced cafe in the lobby of my high rise office building. So I didn't get to buy a crummy breakfast from them. McDonalds, however, was running smoothly ... no problems.

They made driving home a pain as I had to drive through the Valley to get to my home in Hollywood.

They shut down most of the Mexican food and taco joints in the neighborhood almost all owned by Mexicans so those Mexican owners had to take on the loss. I don't have to eat there .. certainly not today.

Now, if we give the jobs to non-immigrants all those places would be open. Add to that not having to pay for Social Services on a Day Without Immigrants. More jobs ... less $$$ going out to pay for illegals.

If there truly weren't any immigrants I would not have had to take a detour home. Another plus for NO immigrants.

Net, net ... it's best without immigrants.

Everyone should know we in CA, tried to deny them services but a Carter appointed judge overturned our proposition and then Gray Davis's AG dropped the appeal.

Georgia is now taking up the effort. Hopefully the same thing won't happen to us.

No kidding, Betty Crocker cookbook (just regular one, nothing fancy) has an EXCELLENT and easy recipe for enchiladas. Since I made my first batch 4 years ago, hubby has refused to eat at any Mexican restaurant.

A group of several hundred protesters has blockaded all northbound traffic coming from Tijuana to the U.S. at San Ysidro.

excellent - let's hope they keep it up

"Us conservatives" as the subject of a sentence should be "We conservatives," unless you meant "U.S. conservatives," in which case, it's a typo.

Bush inherited millions of these illegals from the Clinton era when not many folks were saying word one.

Have you seen the comparison of the INS/ICE record between Bush and Clinton.

During Clinton's worst year his INS arrested more illegals than the total of Bush's 5 years. Also AFAIK, Clinton never encouraged illegal immigration the way that Bush has.

The Clinton presidency was terrible but in blows away the Bush administration on the issue of illegal immigration.

I also have no doubt that if millions of illegal foreign nationals were taking to the streets and shutting down major cities on Clinton's watch that people would be calling for his head.

We demand wages in the maquiladoras that respect the Mexican Constitution

that's a strange statment, given that maquiladora wages are higher, by law, than those at similar plants that are Mexican-owned and operated.

Apparently, these Mexicans were threatened that if they did not show up for the march and boycott, something may be done to them and/or their family members and their equipment would be destroyed.

I told ALL OF YOU years ago about the Mexican unions, called sindicatos and no one listened. I've been writing stuff on here for years about the coming illegal immigration problems and have been ignored or flamed. Americans are about to get what they deserve.
