The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday outside Bethesda Naval Hospital as we defend the honor of our sailors and Marines from the despicable Fred Phelps and his traveling freak show laughable called the Westboro Baptist Church.

The Montgomery County police will be there to make sure everyone's rights are protected. The Phelps crew will do their schtick from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. We'll be there early to set up and be prepared for their arrival.
When: 11:45 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006
Where: Bethesda Naval Hospital, Wisconsin Avenue and Jones Bridge Road.
Bring: American and service flags, and signs bearing messages of support for our sailors and Marines.
Travel, parking: The nearest Metro station is Bethesda-NIH on the Red Line. Street parking is available in side neighborhoods. The best parking areas are on Brandt Place, Glenbrook Parkway and Maryland, in that order. They are off of Jones Bridge Road about 500 feet from the corner we'll be at.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Well how many laws need to get passed to bury these lawyers(figuratively speaking of course~groan~)before they cease and desist?
I don't think a whole bunch of bikers would be conducive to the well being of our guys/gals. I guess peaceful, candlelight vigils with lots of prayers is the ticket, because these Westboro vermin don't speak the Lord's word.
I think the actual name of the Metro station is Medical Center.

It's time for people with access to reporters to spread the word about the reality of the Phelps gang. This is the first time I have read about their fondness for lawsuits - and I spend way too much time reading FR, and listening to talk radio.
I wish I had known about this earlier. I have a church flea market and then I'm singing with the choir in a music festival in Oakton.
